WIW: elbow patches

I thought I was looking for a fisherman sweater, but I decided that what I really wanted was a light colored sweater, not necessarily bulky cables.
So, I found this Vince one with black leather elbow patches (Vince F&F sale- yay!), and it feels more like *me* with its more geometric lines.

I wore this out to dinner with my husband, and he loved it. I wanted to wear my bordeaux booties from NAS, so I added a scarf to bookend them.
Does this work? I'm hoping that the scarf doesn't look too "old lady" with it.

The scarf is lovely and bookends the booties nicely.

How could you POSSIBLY look "old lady" when DH was loving it?! I think the scarf ties the boots into the overall look. This is fabulous and I would wear it myself on a chilly date night. Simply divine!

Hotcha (as my grandmother once wrote about a boy in her diary and I've been waiting to reuse it ever since). You could not look old lady in a million years. This is sophisticated and sexy and stylish.

I have quite a collection of silk scarves from years past, and I love them, but since they don't seem to be exactly the height of fashion right now I'm always trying to find a way to incorporate them into a contemporary look.

Parsley, I know how old you are (birthday girl) and you are definitely ladylike so, using your faultless style as the bench mark, how about we redefine old lady as a compliment?
