Thank you, all Since most folk are back at work, we'll continue the celebrations over the coming weekends instead
@Jenni NZ
Photo #5 was just my face with the makeshift turban, so nothing too exciting
@minaminu
That's very high praise, thank you! I wasn't sure if it was 'too much' colour, but evidently I needn't have worried about that
@April
Well you know me, lol!
We ate out on the day, but will be having a proper home-cooked get-together soon (one of these upcoming weekends, with familial obligations out of the way first).
@suntiger
I had the same issue but the seller was great at answering my queries. I went with a size medium for my items, including bottoms, & they all fit well (I'm a UK10-12/ US6-8 up top & a UK14/ US10 below, if that helps).
@CarolS
You know me - practicality wins, 'hands down'! Haha
@Joy
Yes, coral is one of my accent colours (worn with everything) too - my other accents are chartreuse & yellow. It's tough to get exactly right though - I like a deeper (almost watermelon) warm shade, not too dusky.
@Dee @Roberta
Lipstick is tricky to get right when you have naturally pigmented lips, even when swatching in-store (VS at home), so I'm glad the Sephora lipsticks worked out well in the end! If anyone's interested, I'm wearing:
~ their lipliner in 78 Chili Pepper,
~ the Rouge Shine lipstick in 03 Party Queen (over the top for some subtle sheen).
~ I recommend the Rouge is Not my Name Satin lipstick in 15 Fierce Fire for a more pigmented red-orange shade.
(Of course these aren't high-end lipsticks though, so you'll need to reapply after food.)
@Helena
I'm trying to be good about the sweets... until the next gathering that is, lol!
@Keturah
Thanks, I'm actually a DA (Deep/ Dark Autumn) just like you! But I like wearing brighter colours too, haha
