WIW eggshell leather jacket

Dear Fabbers,
The temperatures here have dropped a little and it is possible to wear blazers and jackets ... yay! Today, I was wearing my eggshell leather jacket by Strenesse. I love leather jackets and I have a few. This one has a lovely colour and the quality of the leather is great. However, there are not many optimal days during the year to wear it, there is only a small window of opportunity when the weather cooperates. I also feel that the shape is a bit challenging, but I like the jacket a lot anyway.
I wear the jacket over a column of black with a large light grey scarf. I added a light grey bag, pointy toe blush flats and brown sunglasses, plus pink lipstick.
The sunglasses are very old (at least 15 years, I have not used them for many years...). I think the colour is nice with the jacket and the combination is a little old nostalgia.
What do you guys think about the outfit? I am grateful for feedback, ideas and suggestions about how to style the jacket. And what do you think about the glasses? Dated or possible to wear again?

The jacket is so crisp and classic! Very elegant on you. It looks fairly fluid in fit—could you layer underneath to get more wear out of it?

The glasses don’t look dated to my eye, though they are distinct.

You don’t look like you have trouble styling the jacket at all, Katerina. It would be fab over a dress too. Perfect with the complemented scarf.

That is a luscious jacket, Katerina. I can see why you like it and have kept it. I love it styled the way you have done here. The glasses are fab! Your soft makeup and pink lippie is the perfect complement to the outfit and pale accessories. Simply splendid.

Your outfit is amazing. I would wear that jacket as much as possible, it's very stylish. As for your glasses...they are very unique (wish I owned a pair myself). The only thing I would do differently is swap out the flats for a pair of black ankle boots with some heel to them. With black boots blending with the black slacks it would put focus more onto the amazing jacket...but that is just me =)

Sylvan Elegance, thank you for the nice compliments. The jacket is rather roomy, so there is room to layer a sweater or even a shorter blazer under it. It will be possible to wear when it gets colder. The only problem is that, here, it rains a lot during the autumn, so a light leather is not perfect. Glad you think the glasses are not dated. Distinct is good

Redneckgirl, thank you for the fantastic feedback. You are right, black booties with a bit of a heel will be great with this outfit. Definitely going to wear them with the jacket and pants as soon as it gets a bit cooler yet.

That is a lovely jacket. I can hardly breathe looking at it since it is extremely hot and humid here. But I love it in theory!

I share your love of leather jackets- and the color/finish on this one are very nice. Enjoy the window of opportunity for wearing it! This winter I want to try layering leather jackets under my coat, I wonder if it will help to get more wear out of them.

Such a pretty colour palette - the jacket and scarf are stunning together. I also love the sunglasses and don't think they are dated at all. Gorgeous! I do know what you mean about needing to be careful with leather jackets and the weather - I have this issue with one of my favourites. Luckily it is black, so it is a bit more robust than you beautiful pink one. Strenesse is a wonderful label. I bought a suit from their store in Munich and it was a firm favourite for about 10 years, I only recently let it go. Obviously I need to travel to Europe more often!

YLF! Always love a black&white(cream/eggshell/off white-you name it) outfit, and this is a perfect match for the weather and purpose! Love the scarf, and the flats with the cigarette pants! I have my own rendition of this outfit myself (an off white pleather jacket, black ankle pants, black patent oxfords, a printed scarf and a black bag) and hope will come in use as soon as fall reaches us.

Suz, thank you, you are too kind. I sympathize regarding the weather, hot and humid is not my cup of tea. Do you have warm dryer autumns in your area when autumn comes, or does it rain a lot?

Thank you Jessikams. I often layer my leather jackets under coats and use as indoor toppers too. You will definitely get more wear of them this way. Unfortunately, the eggshell one is too outdoorsy in the style for indoors, I think.

Bijou, thank you for the compliments. Yes, black leather jackets are a bit easier. Do you wear yours under coats as an indoor topper too? Fun you are familiar with Strenesse. I have had only a few pieces, but they last forever. I bought mine in Germany too. Hope you come to Europe soon! It would be fun with a European get together.

What a great jacket... but I have to say I once had a jacket like this and found it extremely hard to style. I like how the scarf really integrates it with your other pieces. I should have thought of that!

I love that jacket and you wear it well. I would definitely wear a scarf with it as you have done as it would protect your neck from rubbing and the jacket from possible skin oils and makeup. I really like the neutrals together. Your sun glasses look fun and add interest. Wear them.
The jacket would also look good with a column of black or navy., or with olive or tweed ( a reverse of tweed on smooth). You could do a column of a variety of whites. You could add metallics.

What a beautiful outfit! I do like your retro sunglasses. They don't look dated to me.

I like the idea of black booties in cooler weather. And could you wear the jacket in colder weather under a coat (maybe a cocoon shape)? The zipper looks like a 2-way zipper, which I love. I would play with zipping it up all the way, then opening the bottom part to different levels--above the waist or even up past the bustline and see if you might like the different effects. Open the top little bits at a time, too. Perhaps layer it over a close-fitting jewel-neck or turtleneck sweater.

It works well your way, and can see that as part of a white out outfit for spring too! Im thinking the sort of early spring days when it still cold, but you want to visually lighten up

Lovely jacket and I love the way you combine different neutrals, very elegant and sophisticated. The sunglasses look great, a little big but the boldness fits your style very well. The jacket looks to me like it would be just fine for indoor wear in colder months...over a dress as Angie suggested or a close-fitting sweater as Firecracker suggests...maybe with a long necklace instead of a scarf

I find this a very glamorous and elegant look - and I think the glasses are gorgeous and not dated at all.

I can see the length makes the jacket a bit harder to style so I would keep it simple with your lovely trousers and let the jacket and accessories do the talking.

Joy, you are a master of styling and your cream and white outfits are so gorgeous. Fantastic ideas, I especially love the idea of reverse tweed on smooth. I am absolutely going to try tweed trousers with this jacket and a woven wool scarf when it gets colder.

Firecracker, what a good idea to experiment with the zipper. I am thinking my ruffle panel blouse and the jacket half open...

Suntiger, yes, why not! It will be nice with white in cool spring.

Chris, on a second thought, it might work indoors too. As you say, with a necklace perhaps.

Sal, you are right, the lenght is difficult. I am glad you like the combination with my trousers here.

I am happy that so many of you like the sunglasses. I will put them in my regular rotation of sunnies again.
