WIW: easy breezy summer outfits (including Utility Pretty)

Some recent simple summer outfits, including my take on Utility Pretty.

1-2: subtle stripes over dots. Sheer handknit cotton top layered over a polka dot tank and knit pencil skirt.

3: Proportions look weird here, don't they? I think it was better in person, but still, probably not going to wear this one again. Also didn't realize that the tee was so wrinkly!

4: My favorite dress for date night.

5: Utility pretty inspired by Angie! These linen cargo pants are the only utility-ish bottoms I currently own. I paired them with this pink top with ruffly collar and bow for the pretty.

6: long vest layered over lace shorts. Love this silhouette.

I LOVE the pink top in #5. Delicious.

The proportions in #3 and #4 are very good on you. Liking the lengths of those skirts, and the waist definition. Elegant.

And #6 is ADORABLE. Pretty shorts.

These are all great, including the one you questioned (3). I'm awed by that gorgeous sheer hand-knit sweater in 1/2 and it's so pretty over the polka-dot top. Your date-night dress is super fabulous on you, and terrific with the ankle-strap sandals.
I thought of you when I saw the new Born shoes this season. They look like an update on the Arlettas. There are also these laceless ones.

Thanks, everyone! I think my issue with the proportions in #3 is that I didn't love how the top and bottom are exactly the same length. I do like the length of the skirt overall. (It's somehow longer than it used to be, I think because is v old and the jersey fabric has stretched out a bit). I'm glad to hear it doesn't look weird though!

Sharan, I hadn't seen those oxfords! Now if only they'd make some interesting colors... I am still hunting for a replacement for my gold arlettas. (If they came in nude I'd buy them and turn them gold myself.)

I wouldn't have picked up on what you said, that the top and bottom are the same length. I actually thought 3 looked excellent on you. Fun to see how you put these creative outfits together. Wish I had those lacey shorts!

Such pretty looks! That dress fits you beautifully and it's so flattering, as is the pretty top. I love how you've styled the shorts and vest. I got a pair of shorts with a scalloped edge and they've been a favorite this year.

I'm not crazy about same-length tops and bottoms either. One by one all my skirt hems are migrating above the knee...

The "proportions" thing in #3 is probably camera distortion. I like that outfit best, think you look absolutely smashing in it. I like the pink top in your "utility pretty" too.
