WIW: Easter, and Sweatshirt & Shawl, and swatches

Life has been crazy busy. Not with anything "wow" just the busy everyday kinda stuff. Co-op finished for the year. Still have 3-ish weeks left of homeschool left. Mein geliebter and liebersohn were both down for days with a bug. Still cracking away on finishing the kitchen. It's nearing completion and I cannot even believe it.

Easter dress (photos 1-3). This is a new dress. Purchased for autumn/winter, it never got worn. Decided instead of buying a new dress that this would be lovely. Not sure on my sandal choice. I think a navy or black dress heel or dress sandal would be better. Will have to see if I can find a pair.

Sweatshirt & Shawl (photos 4-7). A weird day. It was 52, warm sun and cold breeze. Thirfted the sweatshirt for $6. It's super comfy and from my favorite label, Girl With Curves. Wore it with my new smaller Leigh jeans, sandals, and my new shawl! I wish the shawl color was a bit warmer red, but I am using up stash. (Yay me!) Finally got blocking mats so I could block it properly. It's quite heavy since it's knit in bulky weight yarn. Pattern calls it a blanket shawl, I don't find that entirely accurate? It's a normal sized shawl on me, just a heavy knit.

An acquaintance gifted me a bunch of makeup as a thank you. If you're a Dark Autumn or just enjoy makeup... here you go This was my first time trying Lisa Eldredge lipsticks. OH MY LANDS! Fabulous! Only one color is great for me, but the pigment and texture are amazing. Charlotte Tilbury is also amazing. Will be buying back-ups of both LE and CT lipsticks Also really love Lippie Stix and Fenty gloss. The blushes are great. NYX Buttermelt and Glossier Cloud Paint blushes are very pigmented. A dab will do you and then some.

I’d love to try Lisa Eldridge products but they aren’t sold in Canada and are shipped from the UK ……which seems excessive for little old me . Lucky you !

The 70s boho elegance of that dress—perfection!! I’d love it with boots, either black or brown. The shawl is gorgeous, so cozy and intricate, such a beautiful color for you. I know bupkis about makeup so no comments there.

LJP, I hear you! I have to order from the UK as well. Though, her company does cover import taxes/vat/tariffs. And supposedly shipping is only $5.95. (I was Googling so need to double-check that.) Her velvet lipsticks are worth the hype. I cannot believe the pigment and texture of these! And zero chapped "my lips hurt" at all when wearing them--a feat for matte lipsticks. So if you ever want to splurge, I do think 1-2 LE lipsticks are worth it. I'm not even a matte lipstick fan and I like these. YMMV but I am more open to her products after trying them.

You look absolutely gorgeous in that dress Ket. I am a very low makeup user but am also a huge Lisa Eldridge stan and use her skin tint daily. I have several of her lipsticks and absolutely love them (about once a year I do a makeup ordering splurge). I use them for blush too. I think the one in #13 is perfection on you.

Pretty dress for Easter. I agree that a darker shoe would work well with the dress. Red shawl is such a great color for you and looks so cozy! Fun selection of new lipsticks and blushes. I am lazy with make up and will keep wearing the same products and colors until something is discontinued and I'm forced to find a replacement.

JAileen, thank you so dearly <3 I used to be pegged as a winter/dark winter. It never, ever worked. So, back in 2020 and 2021, I went on a color journey. I spent months draping myself at home. When I discovered I was dark autumn, it felt like I had finally come home.

Jaime, thank you so much! I really, really, really love the dress! So much. Oh, it's so fun to know you're a LE fan too. #13 lipstick is my favorite too. It's just really good. I am thinking of ordering a second "back-up" tube actually. I haven't tried her skin tint before! I will have to give it a go, knowing how much you love it.

Lisa, yes, this dress is going to rock with A/W boots! Thank you for the shawl and lipstick love. I am actually struggling with makeup lately. I've calmed down a bunch of systemic inflammation--which is great. However, my skin tone has changed drastically. My skin lost all of this ruddiness and now... it has warm olive in it. So half of my favorite lipsticks now don't look or feel quite right on me. And ones I didn't love before now suddenly work. It's trippy weird lol! Hoping my face stabilizes and this is it. The makeup switches has gotten exhausting lol!
