WIW early July - simple summer dressing for work

Not quite sure why I've been so busy this month, but I have. I don't seem to have been able to find time to sit at the computer and download etc to post! Oh yeah, no power for a day on the weekend probably didn't help. I did want to post my outfits so far this month though, for feedback, suggestions, etc. These are mainly work, with a couple of casual ones thrown in.

I have to say, I've really been enjoying the simplicity of summer dressing this year. Is this because I'm liking my clothes more? Because I'm discovering my style more? Because perhaps simple dressing is more "me"? Who knows...

1. The Eileen Fisher drape front dress - same as previously seen, but with the Trinas this time
2. BR anchor top from last year, Costco burmuda shorts
3. BR top from last year, JCrew linen pants in navy
4. BR shorts, tee from ??
5. Top and capris that are several years old.
6. Pleione split neck top, skirt from local boutique, Toms wedges
7. Dress and jean jacket - old
8. Pleione wrap top, black skirt from local boutique
9. Book club outfit - Denim capri's from Costco, JCrew linen sweater, Tom's wedges

Interesting to note the lack of white. Must get on that!

All of these outfits look fabulous! It's so hard to pick a fav, but that top in #5 is a standout!
I've been liking my summer dressing more this year too, and I think it's because I'm finding a style that's more "me."

You look terrific! I love your sandals in #1. I think the summery colors in #5 and #9 look especially lovely. All of these are great combos-- fresh and well-composed.

1 and 3 have launched me into an orbit! The Trinas look so fantastic. You and jackiec wear it beautifully. The shoes in 3 are beautiful too.

I think you have a closet full of clothes that fit and flatter you beautifully. You have some fantastic summer bottoms and tops, which makes summer an easy season for you. And that comes with the realization of personal style. You know what you want

All great outfits! For me, 3, 1, and 7 are standouts. I don't know why I gravitate toward the darker outfits! The others are fab, too, and you do look fantastic in all the colors you've chosen. I really like your blue shoes. I wonder how they would look peeking out from the maxi in 7. And what about adding a little more edge to the gorgeous blues in 6 by pairing the outfit with the cool sandals in 3? I think maybe you are enjoying dressing because you have so many great pieces that look terrific on you and mix so well together.

Thanks Ceit and Suz! Suz, the sandals are by Guess, bought them in the spring of last year. One thing I AM noticing with the hair, is that I am reaching for silver sandals as a neutral. Last year I would have worn outfit #3 with navy shoes, I'm sure... Makes it easy!

Isn't it funny how you don't realize a trend in your dressing preferences until you look at a group of them? Back in the winter I realized I had no light colors for winter and that's why I was growing bored. #8 is my favorite because I really like this drape of top right now and the colors are lovely on you.

These outfits all work extremely well Elizabeth. Of course, I especially love the EF dress. And I'm not a big maxi dress fan but you look incredible in #7 - love the denim jacket over the black maxi.

I love #3 and #7 - I am new to the maxi-dress look but think you rock it. Every single outfit seems to have that "je-ne-sais-pas" something that makes it look stylish, current, and fresh. Wow! Lisa you are so right - sometimes I think there is a benefit to posting outfits one at a time to get specific feedback, but posting a bunch really does give you (and others) the chance to see themes, commonalities, and what doesn't quite "fit" - which really helps in style narrowing down. I hadn't realized I was neglecting my white, which I DO really like. Guess what I'm wearing today

Jackie, you are fast becoming one of my style inspirations on here, so your comments mean a lot to me! And I realized I made a mistake... I was not wearing the Prima's in that photo, I was wearing Calvin Klein denim capris from the All Mighty Costco. I am very thankful that Janet was able to get me the Primas though - they are really awesome. If you can make a border run, I recommend trying them. They are freaking expensive to ship to Canada, more than most places, I don't know why.
