WIW: Early Fourth Outfit

I wore this to church, and intended to wear it when I took my CASA kid out to lunch. This is our last - he’s 18 and just graduated from high school. However, I don’t have Angie’s magic ability. I spilled on the skirt about an hour after putting it on. Someone stepped on my toe in Alaska. It doesn’t hurt but looks pretty bad. Wave earrings I bought in Alaska.

Nice, cool summer look. I feel your pain about the white. I'm pretty messy with white, too. At least it can be bleached! Love the wave earrings with your nautical color scheme. Sad about the wildfire, and about your toe!

Youch to the toe, it looks sore. The earnings are beautiful. Lovely white skirt, I do envy Angie's magic powers also! Wow to the blue of the sky, but not so good with the fire.

You look fresh and pretty! Great 4th outfit. How old was your casa kid when you became his advocate? I wish him the best of luck. Sorry about the toe. Mine is in a similar state, unfortunately.

Oouch! Your poor toe. Lovely crisp outfit for the 4th. Your earrings are fabulous and bring back your memories of the trip.
We can smell wildfire smoke but no near fires yet. The mountains look hazy. Those with respiratory problems are having a rough time. We smell mostly blooming linden trees in the neighborhood that perfume the air. Photo of blossoms as we walk under them.

That is a lovely outfit. So sorry about your nail, hoping it heals soon though it will take a while until the nail outgrows it.

Becky, thank you. Angie’s ability to keep white clean is definitely magic. I barely got the stain out with OxiClean.

Jane, thank you. I guess we’re in fire season. As of dinner time it was only 5 percent contained. Our sky is always vivid blue. I enjoy having clouds (not smoke!) once in awhile.

Sterling, thank you. The earrings were made by a local Anchorage artist.

Kelly, thank you. I was his CASA for 6 1/2 years. He had just turned 12. And I was taller than him. Now he’s 6’3” or so.

Joy, thank you. I’m not familiar with the linden. I wonder if we have them here. The leaves look like a cottonwood, but they don’t have flowers.

Kkards, thank you. This particular fire isn’t near homes yet. Luckily it’s not windy.

Suz, thank you. My toe doesn’t hurt at all. I think one of our Alaskan guides stepped back on it with his big clunky boots.

Joyce, thank you. My pedicurist is out after having surgery. I am kind of inept with polish. When she’s back on her feet (literally), I’ll get a nice polish to cover it up.

Like the season, thank you. Yes, it’s colorful.

JAileen, the linden is much smaller and more compact than a cottonwood. It has deep green heart-shaped leaves and is a small/medium yard tree that creates dense shade.

I have to confess I'm a little relieved I'm not the only one that can't keep white bottoms pristine.

I love the earrings! And I spilled food on multiple parts of my maxi dress today.
Ashes on our cars here in CA, from fires quite a bit north of here. And the air was worse this morning, but winds have helped somewhat to clear our air. Not sure how the fires are doing as I've missed the news reports today.
Do you have the option to stay in contact with your CASA kid?

Poor toe! I was nodding along with the problem about wearing white the DD and I agree that if we wear white we automatically become a food magnet.Love the white and Navy combo and the earrings though.
