WIW: Dressy Windowpane and Girly Military

Here are two of my outfits. One from the last week and another MOTG outfit that I wore today.

Outfit 1 - My dressy outfit worn for the Palm Sunday church service. I love the window pane pants that Vicki (or Marley?) and MaryK have. They are just too cute and when I found this windowpane ankle pants at H&M ...... it had to come home Here I have styled it with my navy boxy blouse and my new black pointy toe ankle strap cut out pumps. My happiness factor was very high with this outfit, because I totally love the individual pieces in it! These pointy toe pumps from Newlook are very comfortable for heels and I am thinking of duplicating it in another color. My studded white handbag finished the outfit.

Outfit 2 - Worn for running errands with DSs today. I dared to wear my pink hi low dress that sticks to every lump and bump on my body .... I am not loving this dress and I don't know why (too boho?) .... Anyways, here I have styled it with a military style bolero and my studded flats, to toughen the pink a bit. Does it work? Do the pink and black clash too much?

Oh, I love #1 - so polished and chic. The pink dress is just a bit shapeless for my taste, but I like the way you have styled it with the jacket and sandals.

Ack! Neel: You make me want to keep my Okalas and wear them!!! That outfit in #1 is AMAZING. Or, as my British mother would say, you look so "swish"!
#2 is cute, I love the jacket and do think it adds structure to the dress.

Really love #1. Those windowpane pants are fab and I love the way you've styled them. There's a lot I love about #2 as well and I do think the toughness of the black and studs help tone down the girly-ness of the hot pink. I think it's the looseness of the dress with the extreme crop of the jacket that may look slightly off. Have you tried belting the dress with a thin belt and slightly blousoning it above the belt?

#1 is perfection itself. #2 I would like to see sans jacket. The jacket per se is delightful but I think it overloads what would otherwise be a simple and dramatic outfit.

#1 is fantastic! I need window pane pants now. I love hot pink, black and white together, so if outfit #2 clashes I must clash 2-3 times/week! The proportion in outfit 2 feels a bit off to me...that's a whole lot of dress to be paired with a teeny tiny jacket.

Both so gorgeous, Neel! I too love all the individual pieces in nr.1. And NO! The pink and black don't clash at all, as black it's only 1/3 of the outfit, but adding edge! I couldn't do it for myself, but it's stunning on You!:-)

Back! I am so glad that The pink and black look good together.

Leopardluxe- the dress did come with a belt. But I find it hits me on the widest part of my mid section and I don't like that look I have no waist whatsoever!

Angie, I am so glad you think the dress looks good! I think I need a slightly longer military jacket. I love how they look over simple jeans and tee. But they are a bit hard to come by in my neck of woods. I will have to wait

# 1 is fashion- runway worthy. I wish I could do those slim pants patterned and short boxy tops. That outfit is just made for you.

I like both outfits, but my favorite is #1. I have the same H & M pants, but mine are a bit shorter ankle length on me (I'm 5'8"). I love how you paired the black and white windowpane pants with a blue top, I hadn't thought of doing that, but I will now!

You look beautiful in each outfit --- polished, vibrant and classy. Love the pants and I'm sure you'll get a lot of wear out of them! I think the pink and black are lovely, too! This dress would be great with a denim jacket and some casual sandals for an everyday look.
