WIW: Dress challenge Day 3. - YouLookFab Forum

I wasn't officially wearing a dress day 1 but I did post my Birthday Outfit from the day before, on Day 1.

Today I did a trial run of a dress & shoes I plan to wear to a casual wedding in the UK in July. The bag would work too but I'm wondering if I should buy a clutch instead. The clutch I have is cream, with taupe & python trim & small. It won't fit sunglasses.

I taped the top closed but the wind proved I need to tape the skirt too. This is a sz 6 so nothing was exposed due to the big overlap but I would feel more secure. Perhaps I should buy a slip for it. I just need to find one that doesn't spoil the neck/bust line.

Are the shoes too clunky for the dress or my skinny legs? I need a wedge for the grass and haven't found a suitable one without a platform yet, & I already own these. Oops I didn't show side view so never mind that question. You can't see the clunkiness front on.

From the front the shoes look absolutely wonderful. But I hear what you are saying about needing a side view to see if they are clunky.

I think a clutch would be the perfect complement. TIme to get shopping!

Shoes work well with the wrap and by all means sport a clutch for the wedding.

I love your dress! I am totally a sucker for DVF print wraps and the orange and white is fantastic. I am not sold on the shoes from the one view you have provided, I have to say, something about that ankle line (and I am rather biased against the clunkiness of wedges myself, even if they are on trend).

You really do need a wedge for an outdoor wedding on uneven ground. I do not think these are dated in the least and they dress down the outfit a bit. In just the right way. From the front view, I don't see any need for a slip. Could you wear boyshort type Spanx or something? I wore that under my skirt this past Saturday and they worked well. They have barely any compression but just enough to smooth out the lumps and bumps. I buy the shapewear a size too big, that way they don't suffocate me.

Get yourself that clutch ASAP, one big enough for your essentials.

I think there are possibly more "ideal" shoes, and a clutch would be great, but honestly if I saw you at that casual wedding, I'd just think you look divinely stylish.

So I would be practical and picky for something new--if you find perfect wedge shoes that you'll wear with other outfits, great, If you will make use of a creamy-dreamy summer clutch, go shopping. If you don't have a lot of time and you also want to target something else for your budget, just relax.
