WIW: Disproportionate midi?

I'm feeling rather uninspired. This took me from court to a client's house to a meeting in the office. The tights are more sheer than they look here. Any suggestions? I'm tending toward simplified outfits (no more than three pieces), but I'm not sure they are gelling.

I think it works for a couple of reasons. You defined your waist. Also, your legs are low contrast with your shoes and look very long. This is how I wear midi's.

I like it a lot! Your legs look long, and you look tall and sleek. To me, the outfit's proportions work because the jacket is short. A longer jacket with this length skirt on you would be overwhelming, I think.

Personal preference perhaps, but I'd select a shorter cropped jacket with a midi. But I LOVE the skirt on you --- with the stockings and dark-framed glasses vs your very cool hair, this is the librarian/secretary of lovely penmanship who moonlights with a lightsabre by night! :-p

I'm thinking a shorter jacket or cardi in a color - I actually really like the high waist and super long midi.

I was thinking it could use some contrast in the top half - the blouse and jacket photograph as a block of darkness. Most likely not like that in real life though? A pendant would break that up or a lighter top next time.

Interesting about the jacket length. This is actually a pretty short jacket, though it's probably not that cropped on me. I feel like I would look really short-bodied in a shorter jacket, but I will try it!

The idea of contrast is good for sure. I just don't have tops that would match with this skirt. What WOULD go is my cropped blush jacket, but I can't wear that to court!

I had the same thought as Christianne -- I'd like to see something lighter (or perhaps shiny, like a pendant) on the top half. I really love the long midi and the overall proportions here!

Looking at the pic, the beige/tan color in the skirt grabs my attention more. Do you have a top in a similar color? That way there can be a long column of color under the blazer that draws the eyes vertically.
