WIW Denim Skirt Ensemble

I was inspired to get a denim skirt after seeing Angie's post about this ensemble. I do like the skirt and the released hem is subtle enough to work with my more polished style.
This outfit was super-comfy in the heat, but I think I'd prefer this skirt with a shorter and slightly less voluminous top.
Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I think of a denim skirt as a slightly dressier alternative to shorts when it's hot. You look great in this outfit. Cute sandals.

Great top on you, and what we see of the skirt looks good too.
Volume is ok, length is JFE because the top is low contrast against the skirt, but I'd prefer a shorter top, too.

Love the sandals and top. I always wondered whether you could wear the off-shoulder tops like that (on the shoulders) and now I know. Looks good!

Suz, this particular skirt is a little lighter weight than some and surprisingly comfortable in the heat.
StyleFan, the colors are what drew me to the top. It's a little brighter IRL than either my photo or the "finds" picture.
Janet, your recent denim skirt pic was the encouragement I needed to order the skirt. Look forward to trying it with a striped tee like you did in the fall.
UmmLila, denim skirts are so hard to get a good fit, at least for me. I decided to give this one a whirl because AT clothing usually fits me so well.

No need to blush re the off-the-shoulder. I went into a lovely shop in our local mall recently and noticed a beautiful cowl-necked olive knit jumper. The SA saw me looking and said "oh, that's what I'm wearing"-off the shoulder! It's winter! I blurted out " is it meant to be like that?- it looks seasonally confused! " ( perhaps not the most polite of me, but YLF training to the fore! ) . Quite warm in her shop and she politely said oh, it could be worn either way!

Thank you! I just asked Ethan and he was puzzled for a moment and said "well, it depends on the shoes." I guess that means I need to go get one and then try it on with all of my shoes. I think you might be right that I have some tops that will work!

Your amazing shoe collection does tend toward the refined. It would be a major challenge for someone like me to figure out how to pair them with the more casual look of a denim skirt. But you have such a discerning eye - and Ethan for another expert opinion! I can't wait to see what you two come up with. I know it will be smashing!

I think your outfit looks good, but I can see why the volume of the shirt might bother you. I think the boho top and your sandals go well together.

Ryce, the outfit looks terrific! I like it just as it is. If you want to show more of the skirt, you could try semi-tucking the top as is shown with the jeans in the Finds photo.
