I loved Anna's outfit and instantly remembered it when I needed to dress to go to the playground. I think the shiny buttons on the shirt and the pockets clash a bit with the detailing on the jeans, but my chambray shirt which is more subtle and possibly better option is in the washing and I wanted to see how I'd feel in this much denim. And to be honest, playground can take anything, IYKWIM

Instead of the necklace I wore my new scarf which I tied to look like a necklace.

I love this formula and I think I'll experiment with it more.

Comments and suggestions for improvements are always appreciated.

I really like it, Ornella. The blue scarf with white polka dots and the taupe oxfords add just enough contrast against the all denim outfit if you ask me. I bet you got some admiring looks at the playground;-)

You know how to do denim on denim. The way you are wearing your scarf is how I wear cotton scarves dampened in the summer heat to keep cool.

Love the idea of the green scarf, too. Also -- you could button the shirt to the top and tie the scarf on top of the collar, like a cravat.

I first folded the scarf diagonally to make triangular shape, then made it into a long strip by folding from the corner towards the diagonal, and finally just tied the loose knot in the middle.

The popped collar with the french twist scarf lends a retro aspect to the look. I have seen you explore this facet of your style before (I'm thinking of a gig with a female singer but the name evades me) and I love the result. It adds an extra dimension to the modern classic pieces.

Regarding the hair, of course you're right and you've observed things just as they are, I do try to pull it back as much as possible lately. Reason? Bad haircut *sob*

After asking for your advice about the possible new hairstyle I did not get to meet the stylist I wanted, she was on holiday, but resorted to someone who used to cut my hair long ago. Does great cuts technically speaking, but is stubborn and did not listen. So he went too short on the outer layers which is great is some ways, I can see what he achieved by that, but that was not what I wanted. So he lost my business for good and I now really dislike my hair, so try to remedy the situation the way I feel comfortable, i.e. my face not buried under these awkward layers.

Sorry for the novel, I just am not happy and need a shoulder to cry on.

Btw, Mr. O had mentioned some possibility of hopping to England next month, which means I could make a date with my old hairstylist - which is a good reason in itself to travel IYKWIM.
