What better way to celebrate the *official* arrival of Spring today than by posting my last set of outfits from my Winter capsule? Well, here they are. I’m going to try to do a wrap-up of the whole capsule later this week, and then introduce my spring capsule which I’ve just begun wearing.
Without further ado:
1: black skirt leggings, black long-sleeve jersey tee, lavender crochet vest, black patent tassel loafers
I was not so sure about this outfit at first but once I saw the pictures I thought it looked really good! Still suspect I should probably pass this vest along, as this look is just not warm enough for lizard-blooded me (it was 70 F the day I wore this and, honestly, I was still a little chilly at some points during the day).
2-3: black ponte leggings, aqua silk plaid popover, black cocoon cardi, cognac ankle boots
4: mid-wash skinnies, white pin tuck popover, ivory cardi, cognac riding boots (I think)
Didn’t get a full length photo but you’ve seen this combination before!
5-6: gray skinny jeans, gray/white stripe popover, burgundy long cardi
I did not leave the house after getting dressed on this particular day so keeping it real in my stockinged feet.
7: mid-wash skinnies, dark blue top with black mesh, black cocoon cardi, cognac riding boots
Last outing of the year for my winter village scarf, this was also inspired by Angie’s “black and light blue” post!
This week I found myself getting “one last wear” from items that I knew wouldn’t be in my spring capsule. That was sort of a nice ritual!
However I didn’t have a lot of time to focus on my outfits and some of these feel a bit undercooked. The good news is that my deep winter capsule is in good enough shape that I can put together passable ensembles with very little effort. (Yes, some of them are repeats but that is ok with me.) The bad news is that creative dressing requires…well, creativity and focus! I guess that’s as it should be.
As always, any thoughts, questions, or suggestions you feel moved to share are most welcome.
