Trying to get back into the habit of taking and posting WIWs. Here are three from this week, which has been consistently below freezing and sometimes in the single digits Fahrenheit, so it's been all about knitwear and warm layers.

1-2: Monday's outfit. Definitely a FFBO for cold weather with my handknit cream cabled sweater, plaid pants, and suede boots. Funny thing was when I walked into lab on this day, two other women (out of 5) were also wearing cream cabled sweaters! Second photo is my outdoor wear - my heaviest wool coat, giant cashmere blanket scarf, and handknit fair isle hat and mittens.

(handknit sweater, Joe's plaid pants, Sam Edelman boots, Kenneth Cole New York coat, BR scarf, handknit hat and mittens)

3: Wednesday. Was a little tired of giant sweaters, so instead I wore a lighter cashmere sweater as a "shirt" under a knit blazer. These microcheck pants are super warm since they are wool and lined. I like the vaguely equestrian feel of this ensemble. I didn't actually carry the red bag in this photo (it's just hanging on the doorknob behind me) but now I wish I had!

(Tinley Road blazer, Uniqlo cashmere sweater, BR pants, Blondo boots)

4-6: Thursday (today). Debut of my new gold zipper boots! As I suspected, putting my orthotic in them helped get rid of some of the bagginess at the front of the ankle. I don't know why I've never bought OTK boots before. They keep my knees warm! The black sweater here is also a new handknit. It's cashmere and has a convertible collar (you can unbutton it and wear it as a scarf, thrown over one shoulder).

(handknit sweater, Vince jeans, CK boots, Longchamp bag)
