This is my first proper festive outfit in December.
Few weeks ago I saw a pair of faux leather burgundy trousers and fell in love. The only problem - they were high rise and I don’t wear high rise jeans or trousers even though my rise is high as a measurement. So I quickly moved on. But the trousers kept coming back in my mind - the color and the fabric reminded me of a skirt I once had and how edgy I felt in it. Also around Christmas I always want to wear all shades of red burgundy included. And thirdly, I alway buy festive tops, sweaters, dresses bur rarely any bottoms. In the same time my climate is more suitable for festive trousers than skirts. So I looked again at the model and decided to try them - worse thing I would just return them.
This week the trousers arrived and I wore them the next day. The high rise is not as bad as I expected. Maybe the heavy fabric helps, I don’t know, but I actually like myself in them. The weather also as expected will give me more chances to wear them, maybe to almost all festive occasions that I have this year.
In the last photo I tried them with my new oversized Zara sweater to see whether high rise and semitucked oversize could match and I think I like it. I have some cropped sweaters that go with the trousers but it’s nice to be able to wear them with more voluminous items. It’s winter after all, cropped is not always sufficient.

P. S. The mess in the background is totally created by me - was in a hurry and didn’t bother to put away my coats before taking the photos, ups...
