WIW: debut of the snake print sweater dress

Wearing my new snake print sweater dress from ON today. Based on everyone's feedback and my own personal taste, I decided to keep the medium (the less body con but still properly fitting one). Because it's rather warm today (in the 40's! Snow is melting!) I decided to pair it with tights instead of leggings or pants. I'm wondering now if the combo of short fitted dress and non-opaque tights might be a little too much for work though. (I should add though that nobody at work actually cares what I wear, so it's just a question of what I personally feel is appropriate.) On the other hand, I haven't worn a dress and tights since October, so maybe I have just forgotton what it feels like!

What do you think? Save the dress+tights combo for going out at night and stick to leggings/pants for day? Or is it all in my head and this is perfectly appropriate?

I vote for appropriate. The opaque tights and the flat boots make it look less like a going out dress to my eye. You look terrific in it, Diana!

Thanks all! Someone at work just complimented me on my outfit so I guess it's all good.

ETA: Ha, I think part of the weird feeling was just going outside and feeling the breeze on my thighs. The absence of pants hasn't happened for quite a while!

What a fabulous dress! It almost looks like a lace print from a distance! I think is looks great on you! For day, another option is to pair it with opaque tights and knee high boots

I agree - the flat boots makes it work appropriate to me. Have you tried wearing nude nylons underneath to combat the breeze?

I have been wearing the dress over ponte skinnies look for the past two weeks so as to avoid that breezy feeling. So much warmer! And a shorter dress is perfect for that look.

Oh, the breeze wasn't cold. It was just... breezy. It's shockingly warm today. I will never layer hose. I can barely stand one layer of it, the thought of two waistbands just makes me want to cringe.

Una, I originally had planned to wear this with my black Ultra Skinnies underneath. It was just so warm today I couldn't resist getting out the tights. I think a lot of other ladies were on the same wavelength. I saw a lot of tights and dresses on my commute today, some more dress-like than others, LOL.

You are young and beautiful so this works perfectly. Nice you have options for making it work other ways. This legwear would be questionable at work with high pumps, but the boots are right on.

I love it with the flat lace-ups! And I think it's fine for work like that. Or at least I really hope so, because I feel like I've worn shortish dresses like that to work with black tights without really thinking about the appropriateness.

I vote appropriate. I like this combo with the tights and boots. You can always throw a long cardigan on too if it cools down.

Absolutely appropriate, especially in the darker hose. This is a very versatile dress and looks really good on you. Interesting but simple....I like the monochromatic feel, which seems to me to be a departure from your usual style.
