Happy New Year, all!  Although I haven't posted in the forum in some time, I so enjoy reading your posts and seeing everyone's lovely ensembles and insights.

Writing to share a few WIWs from our recent staycation in DC.  Since we live right outside of Old Town, Alexandria, we spend most of our weekends there (even though I metro to DC for work most days), and so while our nine-year-old daughter spent a week with her grandparents and great-grandparents in Richmond, we enjoyed three days and nights exploring DC (we hadn't been to the Library of Congress in decades!), dining at nice restaurants, and wearing our finest, in belated celebration of my 43rd birthday and because it's always a joy to bring all our most beautiful clothes and accessories out to play.

As to the dresses in the photos, I've had the beloved dress in the first photo for over a decade, the dress in the second photo for a few years, and the dress in the third photo I recently picked up for a song on the Real Real and took to my phenomenal tailor, so it made its debut on New Year's Eve.  It will be great for weddings (third Find below; a dark blue dress with some sparkles).  I enjoyed wearing some of my treasured accessories as well, like my favorite double-strand of pearls and the cluster earrings (although I wear those at least weekly).  As you can see, my husband even brought out his tux for our New Year's Eve celebration, which was great fun.

Although I have always skewed dressy and try to bring out my favorite items as much as I can - as I know Angie supports, I try to enjoy everything in my closet - this was definitely a special time to get dressed up and celebrate.

Thanks for looking, and hope everyone's year is off to a lovely start with lots of enjoyment of your own favorite clothes and accessories.
