WIW day 5 CC fringe, flowers and butterflies

Hi all the last day drew quite a few compliments at work on my fringed tunic. Originally bought for Art Deco weekend 5 years ago. I thought the neckline was a bit open, on reflection, so added a butterfly necklace as I had already chosen the butterfly earrings which show green or pink in various lights. The green sandals came out to play again.

Thank you Carla for the challenge. To run errands on Saturday I happily went back to black pants!

Super cute fringed tunic, Jenni. Good silhouette. Would be fabulous with your black crops or ankle pants - which I know you couldn't wear for the challenge! Next time

Thanks Angie. I actually really liked it with the long olive snakeskin pants a different time. I wonder if the buttons on these white crops compete with the fringe a bit. But if I wore black bottoms, might not the fringe be hard to see? And it is meant to be a feature? Would be interested in your or anyone's thoughts on that.

Jenni, a great outfit to finish the challenge in. I think wearing black crops would be great. Whilst I agree that the fringe of the tunic will not stand out as much as it does against the white, I do think it will still have quite an impact. Do you have cobalt pants or crops?

Unfortunately not. My only coloured pants are the olive. Otherwise black, navy, white, pewter, charcoal or dark denim. I have not worn coloured pants for years, as self-conscious about weight gain and fat bottom/thighs/waist. The weight gain has been there for over 10 years now though, since 2007 I think, so kind of vacillating about trying some more interesting bottoms again but not sure. I also don't want the bottoms to compete with the shoes so the modus operandi for a long time has been interesting top half, boring bottom half except for shoes. Again interested in other's views on this dilemma, particularly other apples.

Oh, I love that tunic! Looks great on you and the sandals are very pretty.
I think the buttons on the trousers compete a little bit with the fringe, so maybe a simpler pair?
As for the idea of black trousers, I think it would be very nice. The fringe would not be as visible as against light colours, but the texture would still be there. It would be more subtle, but why not as another option to wear the tunic?
Re colourful trousers - I believe it is all in the cut and the fit, rather than colour. Solid colourful trousers can be simple in cut and style and if they fit perfectly, very flattering.

Jenni, there is nothing wrong with your formula. You always good great and create interesting outfits, so I don't think you need to be on a quest to get more interesting bottom halves. I don't have any bright trousers either and have never thought that I needed them.

Jenni, the fringe would be harder to see with black crops, but still look gorgeously textured and move and you stride.

What a beautiful tunic! How about fuchia or burgundy pants with it? I know you said you haven't worn bright pants, but the top would still be the statement piece

The fringe is great! Fringe can be so much fun.

I like the addition of the butterfly necklace. I think it helps draw the eye up, since the neckline is very open. I like to fill in gaps like that with necklaces too.

Thank you Gigi. I am wearing fewer necklaces overall and let my earrings do the work of drawing the eye up mostly, but this time it felt incomplete.

I wonder what the tunic would be like with a skirt too, it might work....or even a very plain black dress...... Just an idea as it is perfect with cropped pants of course.

Thanks Sal, I have worn it with a black pleated skirt once- to a wedding I think and it worked well.
