Got some great suggestions on a dress I felt was a bit outdated and decided to wear it today. I really like the pattern, it's fun and uses pretty shades of pink and purple. The print does remind me a bit of those abstract paintings that were everywhere in the 80s, but I think (hope!) I did a decent job of making it look more current. I added a pink cardigan, cinched at the waist with a black wide double-prong belt for a bit of an edge, maroon tights and black flats with gold studs on the heel. I think this is the almond shape toe? The necklace and earrings are geometric shapes so I feel it matches the print of the dress, and the gold matches the studs on my flats.
Close up of the neckline so you can see the part I don't like, sorry for the boobaliciousness lol ... I guess I could have used a tank top under the dress!
