Dear Fabbers,
I have just returned from a short business trip that comprised of a concert and a glass of wine with colleagues on Monday evening and a meeting with a client plus a short flight back today. Inspired by Angie’s dark monochrome outfit formula, I decided to wear a dark olive blazer, which is kind of shiny, combined with black trousers and blouse. I added an anthracite silk scarf and a black bag. This is my version of a dark monochrome outfit.
The second picture is the same blazer with a yellow scarf - this would be my usual combination - I brought both with me.
Bonus pictures - a work outfit on Tuesday with black windowpane blazer over a column of black with a black and white scarf. And my olive puffer, which I wore over both the outfits.
I like black and dark colors as much as bright colors, both these outfits felt like “me”.

That is a stunningly beautiful blazer- I love the shine. I’ve been wondering what you wear over your blazer collection- assuming that only a blazer is not enough for winters in your climate. Fun to see how the puffer works so seamlessly with your outfits.

I like it with the yellow scarf also, but so elegant in monochrome! Especially with the bit of shine in the jacket.

Very chic, Katerina. There is something about these outfits, especially the one with the dark olive jacket, that looks more modern than your regular classic style. I can’t put my finger on it-so I’m not much help. Fuller trouser leg, or footwear maybe? I don’t know how you do it, but even your puffer style is elegant!

That shiny blazer would be so FAB for all kinds of holiday outfits. I slightly prefer the first look with the darker scarf as it lets the blazer be the center of attention.

Slim cat, thank you very much. I got this yellow metallic nail polish as a gift from my sister. It is unusual for me - I mostly wear very classic red non metallic polish. But I like this one when it matches something I wear - the thought was to match it with the yellow scarf, but it looks good with the olive as well. The concert was a classical concert, so most ladies wore dresses or dressy skirt outfits. I wanted something a bit shiny and sparkly, but still to wear trousers and comfortable shoes.

Runcarla, thank you for the kind comment and your feedback. I was thinking about what could be more modern here. The boots, trousers and scarves are old. The blazers are semi-old I think it might be two things - new to me hair style - shorter and styled with a flat iron as opposed to my normal classic bun. The handbag - a smaller crossbody as opposed to my retro or vintage handbags. Perhaps it is that there are fewer retro elements than usual.

Vildy, thank you very much, what a compliment. Elegant is what I like. The blazer is from Escada (as so many of my clothes, I almost think it is embarrassing to say that again ). This one is from a German outlet - Escada does not have a shop where I live, so I shop their things in Germany or from Germany online.
