And what Angie says, goes.
When I'd asked her about the colour of the famous Ecco sneakers, she reiterated how well the Vince Camuto top went with them... as purchased by client Bridget. And now by me, thanks to the help of a wonderful fabber (you know who you are) who has helped me out with the annoying duties on several occasions.

So here we go:
1-2, what I wore to work
3-4, what I wore to go over to a friends in the evening

5: I went to my friends house because she had a Cabi party the night before, which I couldn't get to. I really had no intention of buying anything, but kind of fell for this skirt. I am seriously contemplating it. Yes, another black bottom...

The VC top is fab on you and so are the sneakers. Wise purchase.
Without seeing the skirt on you it is hard to tell much about it. It looks like a dressy skirt. What tops would you wear with it?

Yummy yellow! How fun that the two pieces go together so well. LOVE and adore the first outfit, especially with the topper. That is soooo springy and cheerful looking! Sportier rendition looks good too, though I think I want to see slimmer or more-cropped pants there to play further on the sporty vibe; the straight legs read just a touch too classic here to me. The skirt looks nice. Will it take any wears away from other skirts (esp. tube skirts) that you love to wear? Or could it perhaps replace one that's getting run down?

Thanks Joy. The skirt actually isn't dressy at all, it's a drapy jersey knit... very EFish. What tops I'd wear it with - well, I do confess is what's making me hesitate. Anything long will cover or get caught up on the rouching. And I don't do cropped well, as cropped length with my shoulders make me look like a box. I do think semi-tucked tees will work.

Aida, I don't really have anything like this... at least, no black tube skirt. I have a black maxi that I rarely wear, not sure why but I think it might be the potential of tripping factor (which this one cleverly avoids) and a black above the knee knit skirt that I wear a lot in the summer for work, which has a completely different vibe.
And I agree that cropped jeans would be better. I was being lazy Just swapped out the shoes and jacket and ran out the door. Good eye!

Hah I knoooow how that goes. The straight legs looks good, I doubt most would feel otherwise. We here just know how much classic you usually go for As for the skirt, high-low tops or soft tops that can be semi-tucked would work really nicely; cropped sweaters, too.

Wow - citrus is your colour! Great top on you, and this is the first time I've seen those silver shoes on anyone, and I really like them ...had no idea the toe was that pointed. So chic. That's a cool looking black skirt too - Cabi is a home party thing? Those are so hard to go to and not buy something totally wrong - at least that's what seems to happen to me. I wore a long-but-side gathered black knit skirt yesterday and actually really like it ! I did have trouble figuring out the right top though - what do you plan to wear with yours? And out over top, or tucked?

It's a great citron match isn't it, Elizabeth. The top and palette look terrific on you. FABULOUS. Happy to have been an enabler.

I like the straight legs with the sneaks, but would like to see more of the ankle strap silver pumps in #1 with a cuff on the hems of the jeans. That top looks great with a pencil skirt too.

Wow! Citron is amazing on you Elizabeth. You look radiant. (That Angie is so smart.) Great purchases. I also like the CABI skirt . Like Aida suggests, these sort of skirts pair very nicely with Hi-Low tops… a nice summer option. And I am from the clan of "a hundred black bottoms" -- so I cannot talk you down here.

Wow, what a great response to come back from a rather painful (but freeing) Physio appt to! The only comment I got on the top IRL was a bit iffy, so I'm glad there is some love to be found here, because I really like this colour. Fresh and unusual.

Angie, thank YOU. I liked this top in your blog post, but you suggesting it with the sneaks on my sneaks post pushed me over the edge. And thanks also for the sizing help. I will definitely wear it with a pencil skirt.

Lisa, yes, cabi is a home party clothing thing. I don't generally make mistakes at home parties, but I do spend money :).

You guys are making me sway towards at least trying the skirt. Thank you so much for the top suggestions. I don't have a lot of hi-lo, but I think I prob have enough to make it work. And if I need to get another, so be it. I think the tops below could work, and I also have a wrap blouse. And of course lots of drapey tees that can be partially tucked. What do you think?
