WIW. Cozy gray - YouLookFab Forum

I bought this J Crew sweater envisioning all sorts of cozy outfits, however, I think the cropped cut and oversized boxiness are giving me pause. I bought a large based on their sizing (I'm a typically a medium or a 10, so many sites list a 10 as a large now so I go with their sizing). I'm long legged and tall so I think the proportions are what is throwing me off.

Pic 3/4 swapped out the jeans and boots for J Brand Aidens and Hudson navy booties that I just got for a song off eBay. I think a little more structure looks better. Or are both good? I've discovered I need a pair of dark den jeans. Most of mine are distressed or washed out washes.

On a different note, I love how cozy and inviting everyon's homes look during the holidays, so I included a pic of our front room decked out for Christmas. Ever since moving to the lake I am having a hard time leaving home...I could stare at the lake for hours! The coziness of our living room is not helping...sigh, off to town I go!

I really like this - I think I prefer the second style a bit better, but I think this is because I prefer the second jeans wash better generally speaking. Both look great and what a cozy sweater. Your home looks great too!

I like this a lot. Like TG I think I prefer the second one slightly, though to be honest both are great. FWIW, I like the proportions too. Fab boot details in #4.

I like the second version, but then I have a bit of a poison eye for distressed jeans, so that's going to influence me. I wouldn't want to leave your home either! I still haven't gotten my Christmas decorations up; I think I'll at least get out the lights this evening.

Ok the outfits.. Even though it's cropped the sweater still reads as cozy to me. I prefer the second version with that particular layering, but think the first would be fun if you swapped the shirt for a plaid one. I don't find the first version too big overall, either. The top half would also be fun with a faded pair of jeans and lighter booties.

I think both outfits are great, but I think I like the second one a bit more as well. And I think it's for the structure, like you said.

I like the sweater on you and prefer the 2nd look slightly more. I think this whole cropped sweater thing takes some getting used to...I am still not reaching for mine as much as I thought. Love you Cmas decorations. Perfect room for a cozy sweater!
