Hi all
For the second part of my Orphan Black "challenge", I decided to use character Cosima as my style inspiration.
Cosima's style is very different from her "seestra" Sarah. She leans boho. She loves cosy knitwear, scarves, graphic and tribal print tops and skirts, body con dresses, lace, and lots of jewellery. She wears lots of red. She favours leggings, and opaque and patterned tights, with heavy ankle boots. She loves texture. Pic 1 is an inspiration pic.
Outfit 1: BR teal knit top with Metalicus graphic print skirt. Opaque black tights and Midas ankle boots. Not Cosima's colours but her look. I wore a teal trench coat with this for outerwear but forgot to take a photo.
Outfit 2: Zara red cotton knit top with Veronika Maine graphic print skirt. Opaque black tights and Midas ankle boots. I thought this was very Cosima but she would wear a shorter skirt! I wore a burgundy wrap coat with this (David Lawrence).
Outfit 3: This was a no brainer because Cosima wears this skirt in the show. My skirt is from Zara. I wore this with a dark brown turtleneck knit top, dark brown tights, dark brown suede boots (Witchery) and a burgundy wool jacket (Marcs).
Outfit 4: Zara red cotton knit with Metalicus ruched black skirt. The top is cropped at the back and front but long at the sides, and quite boxy. I am sure Cosima would be right into my floral boots (Django and Juliette). I wore them with micro fishnets (a nod to Cosima's patterned tights). I liked the way the mesh of the tights picked up the mesh in the boots. I think I will repeat this combo.
So this was a fun change after Sarah. What I also noticed, in putting together the outfits, was that the tops that I wore were interchangeable with most of the skirts that I wore. So I have good variety in my "Cosima" capsule. A lot of that has to do with confining colour choices I suspect. As I mentioned in Sally's post about repeating wears, I am looking to get maximum variety in looks without shopping more.
As usual, I would love to hear your thoughts
