WIW coral + denim, + questions

I finally have some time to post again. The last month has been crammed with travels, work, everyday rush, illness, celebrations etc etc. I'll do a post on NYC travel / shopping / style insight when I get my head around.

Anyway - the coral cardi is "old and new" - that is, I lend it to a friend a year or so ago and got it back the other day. I love the color and the knit but always struggled to find a way to wear it. Now I think this works... It is high up on the happy scale, at least

#1 Detail bracelets
#2 Trench, green bag, cardi, denim skirt and scarf
#3-4 With/-out scarf - not decided on shoes yet
#5-6 Detail eardrop + knit + bracelets

Question: I thought about wearing my yellow vintage coat, but hesitated and thought your comments would be helpful. Is this far too much going on?

I like this a lot. The coral is beautiful on you and the cardigan is just so cute. The yellow coat and the patterned bag work so well. I can imagine this makes you happy cos it makes me happy just looking at it. This is a lovely colorful and arty combo.

Deborah & Kiwichik: So glad to read your positive responses to the color combo The bag, cardi and jewellery have all been in my wardrobe for many, many years, but it seems that they only now make friends. The bag was expensive and I have been saving it (for what I'm not sure), but decided to make it my everyday bag to work instead of a black gear-y backpack. Its perfect because I can get all my stuff, books, notebooks, lunch box, sunglasses etc in it and even have some extra room! And CPW is going down

The jewellery are from my childhood. I'm not sure where or whom I got it from. I think the eardrops are from my grandmother, the three-stone bracelet is from Greece (probably mid 1970's) and the turquoise flower bracelet might be from my mother (1970's I guess).

I love combining such personal items with newer and sometimes more exclusive stuff Hmmm.. I actually think that could be part of my rubric

I adore this outfit! I love all the different textures and patterns with the bracelet, the scarf, the little dangly things on the sweater, etc. You look wonderful.

I like the coral sweater (which looks red on my computer monitor). Both the tan coat and the yellow coat look good. I think the yellow goes really well with the scarf that ties the different colors in your outfit together.

I prefer 2! More tone down. On the last photo I think it's too much, coral + green + yellow, but that's just a matter of personal preference!

Love you in vivid colors! Coral and turquoise is just one of my all time favorite classic combinations and that your jewelry has a bit of personal history makes it even better. With the yellow coat - incredibly good.

Nice idea for using that great bag - it really amps things up.

I wore the trench to tune down the outfit and to make it a bit more streamlined. With the yellow coat I felt a bit like a flower bed out of control. BUT I think I can play with the coral cardi and yellow coat by adding a black pencil instead - or at least something more "tailored" or structured in a way, so that I don't get the feeling of just flowting in all directions. Thanks for all the input - very useful for taking futher steps with the closet (almost) orphans
