WIW Copycat and new leather belt

I know this is not a spring outfit, but I figure if Mother Nature isn't acting like it's spring, then I don't have to either!

On a recent outlet shopping trip I picked up this leather belt at Diesel (super sale + end of season markdowns!). I could have done almost an exact copy of my Pinterest photo as I have a bright red skirt, but I thought I'd mix it up a bit and wear my wine colored skirt. And even though the calendar says April 22, not Feb. 22, it was 30 degrees this morning (brrr) so I had to put on a lightweight turtleneck.

I am still on the search for light brown/beige shoes that fit, so I had to wear my dark brown sling backs. Hopefully they don't look too bad. I tried tucking the top in, but it made my skirt bunch a little at the hips with the belt so I left it untucked.

Awesome belt, Karie, and I actually like your version better than the original. Admittedly, it reads a bit like an autumn outfit, but what are you going to do when the temperatures won't cooperate? Today was the first warmer day here....amazing to feel comfortable outside without layers of wool!!

Don't you have a red skirt, Karie? That will make it feel more like Spring. That belt looks great on you, and is fab over the denim shirt

I do have a red skirt, but I was trying to get one more wear out of the wine colored one before putting it away until next fall
I figured the next wearing of the Diesel belt will include the red skirt, denim shirt (no t neck underneath, it has to warm up soon!), and hopefully a new pair of light brown pumps.
It's so hard to wrap my mind around dressing for spring when it's cold outside in the morning - tomorrow is supposed to be colder than today

Thanks, Diane! Although I am not wild about the t-neck underneath, it did keep me warm. It's another cold morning (29 degrees!) but I'm vowing no more turtlenecks - not even lightweight ones - until next fall!

I love the leather belt, too - hopefully I will get a lot of wear out of it, no matter what the season!

I really like the belt over the denim shirt. I understand about the wine colored skirt. I sometimes try to get one more wear out of a favorite winter item before it has to be put away until the fall too.
