Some outfits from the past two weeks, when the weather cooled down some. Most of these combinations and some of the items are new, so your thoughts and comments are much appreciated!

1-3 I got the teal top I was debating, and paired it with my navy trousers and shoes. I added the BR denim blazer that’s been a favorite here. The waterfall collar of the top doesn’t work very well with the collarless jacket, but I couldn’t find a better alternative (see attempt with white cardi). The complete outfit with topper also felt a bit too dark to me though otherwise I felt great in it. Get blush complement already??

4 Action pic with baby! These dungarees don’t get as much wear as I’d thought they would when I bought them. They’re just a bit fussy for the weekend and I’m insecure wearing them to work. But I did get complimented on them twice this weekend! Would you wear dungarees to work if you had a casual dress code?

5 I ended up keeping this printed shirt to wear in this exact outfit and I first wore it to a meeting which was exactly its intended use. Like the first outfit, I feel this could be improved with a blush complement (shoes and bag).

6 Here I was channeling a boarding school kid that needs to go comb their hair …

7-8 My amazing mum made this skirt for me and I chose the fabric myself, so it’s a bit of a shame that I have a hard time finding a top for it now (yes, another orphaned skirt). It’s a shade of blue that’s leaning towards mauve I think, whereas all my other blues are true navy or denim. I think the grey top has slight green undertones, and I don’t think it’s as flattering an outfit as it could be.

9 A variation on an outfit already posted, with rose waterfall cardi. This cardi was actually a postpartum staple: the waterfall collar is great for extra coverage when nursing outdoors or when you have to hide milk stains hmm … I like the color so am still wearing this now, though this style skews too relaxed for me.

10 Another attempt to style the grey top, which is a lovely fabric and has tiny shell buttons on the back – I really thought this one would be super versatile but it’s not. Is it the shade, the shape or my lack of imagination??

General takeaways: though the blazer and navy pants may look a little harsh in the pictures, they made my preferred outfits IRL. They’re both super comfortable yet make me feel like a force to be reckoned with J. Note to self: add more structure! Also I read up on some Imogen Lamport color and value theory and have decided that outfits with lots of neutrals but also one color, and medium value contrast, look best on me. So I’m paying special attention to that now (see 2,5,9).

Thank you for any comment or suggestion!
