Last week was a bit of a rough week with an ear infection and lots going on at work. I was pleased I made it through in one piece. I did have a weekend away on Waiheke Island to look forward to with some friends. Three of us walked the half marathon, and the other two joined us for the conversation, laugh and meals out. I was not looking forward to the walk as my ear was still sore and I was on antibiotics - I made it around but I have to say I found it a bit of a struggle at the 12-13km mark, but then changed my attitude.
Here is a picture of me prior to being picked up - beanie to hide my hair in need of a colour and cut, and also to protect my sore ear. This is a very sporty look - the beanie, jeans and sneakers were all added last year, the lambswool hoodie on deep sale this year from Ezibuy.
Last look is a bit more Business Bombshell. My new Witchery blouse, with an old Jacqui E skirt, nude fishnets, and old sandals purchased thrift in 2010 in the UK for 5 pounds. Worn for work, a meeting and a haircut. I have gone a little darker this time to stop the regrowth being quite so bad!! I have not worn tights with sandals for a long time, a bit of fun to mix it up.
My 15 year old asked me why my tights had holes in them - I commented that I liked them. He said "Tights with holes had no point to them, just wear socks, and maybe shorts instead of a skirt."
I said "what about fashion?". His response was that the only criteria should be comfort, warmth and clothes that are easy to take on and off, and fishnet tights did not meet that criteria.
I do not think he will join this fashion forum in the future. Nor any others that may exist.
