WIW continuing with shorts - YouLookFab Forum

This week I am leaning into the shorts for muggy summer weather thing, desensitizing myself to the sight of my legs! LOL

I vowed to wear this shirt. I really like it, but struggle with navy tops because my bottoms are predominantly dark neutrals, or patterns with black, and very little seems to go with this top. It’s navy with thin silver stripes. It would be great with white denim on someone who looks better in high contrast outfits with dark tops and white bottoms.

So I am trying it today with olive shorts. Lower contrast but neutral while still being a “color.” Not exciting but I decided to try to give it a bit more interest with snake print sandals and bag.

Bonus photobomb with Sunny again. She has fully taken on the role of my official shadow. It’s been almost a year since my last little shadow departed this world (Tippi in pic 4) and I still miss her so, but Sunny has helped fill the void Tippi left.

Honestly, I’ve always admired your legs. Now, I have actually considered liposuction for “fat knees”...except mr bj1111 almost fell of a chair laughing .

The outfit is great, I really like navy and olive together. Perhaps wear navy with medium wash denim for a small amount of contrast?

Angie, the top is Treasure & Bond from maybe three years ago? I love that they shape is gently fitted — skims the body but doesn’t cling, and not tent-like. It’s not knotted here, but semi-tucked. I would grab another top in this cut in a heartbeat!

Liesbeth, it’s gotten too hot here for jeans. I can do denim shorts but jeans are probably out of commission until late September. Even pairing this shirt with denim shorts feels like a lot of dark blue to me.

I'm sorry about Tippi. My beloved pup died almost three years ago and I still miss him all the time. So wonderful that Sunny is adorably able to slip into the role :). I have been thrilled to have our new-ish pup around during Covid--he always helped lift my mood.

Anyway, you are showing us another fabulous shorts look, perfectly paired with that awesome shirt and accessories! Love the navy with the olive! That looks like an excellent summer shirt. I also love the snakeskin accents.

This outfit really highlights your lovely figure! Navy tops can be a challenge, so dark, so flat, but the accessories and the white soles on the shoes add light and texture.

Janet, another fab shorts outfit. I do get that as we get older our legs are not what they used to be (sigh), but you are really rocking these shorts, with amazing tops, shoes and bags... you have lovely long legs, that these look flattering even if they don’t feel so great to wear.

Bijou, even when I was young, my legs have never been my favorite feature, at least not from the knee up, LOL. But they are long and strong and have carried me through many adventures so I try to love them for what they do, not what they look like!

The shorts are by Jag — they are a pull-on style, and I lemminged them from LisaP. I also have them in cobalt blue. They were a little tight for a while but are feeling more comfortable now (one of those garments that gives me a reality check when I need to watch my eating!).

Love the outfit, always a fan of olive and navy. Jag shorts have always been a winner for me, and these are really flattering.
Agree with Jaime - you look so happy in #3! It's that look we get when we adore our sweet pups and cats.

A great shorts look! Those shorts are such a great color on you, and they are a color I would happily wear, too. In fact, I tried them at some point, but the sizing was off. (I have that style in a couple of colors, and I found they run wildly different across the colors I tried.) Back to your outfit: I like the navy top with the soft olive bottoms, and as always, you have the perfect sandals and bag to accompany the look. Very sophisticated casual, with the backpack giving a little bit of edge.

Sunny makes me smile, too, and adorable Tippi (RIP).
