WIW: Conservative Floral - YouLookFab Forum

I have a meeting today that dictates I dress reasonably conservatively - plus we're conducting interviews for our receptionist position this afternoon so need to look professional. But I still wanted a wee bit of fun in my outfit - so I popped on my floral print dress but topped it with my black blazer (I thrifted this blazer four weeks ago and this is its maiden voyage - I love the leather collar on it and the fit) and my newly thrifted black peep toe pumps (from Saturday's thrifting frenzy). I added another pop of colour with my green handbag. Jewelry is a simple silver bangle.

Does this outfit look both professional and fun? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

That is just lovely, the green picked up again in the bag....I love how happy you look!

And definitely professional and FUN! I missed that the collar was leather...I love those kind of touches that make something extra special

I love this outfit! You do indeed look professional and fun. The one item that's giving me pause is your bag. I positively love the color, but here it seems to be competing with your dress for attention. I'd be interested to see the same outfit with a more neutral bag. But that said, you look great here!

Works brilliantly! The fit on the blazer is lovely.

Do you find peep toes comfy? I always worry they will sort of cut into the toe. But I don't think everyone has this problem.

Deborah - normally I can't wear heels that are over 2.5/3 inches tops but these have a half inch platform so the real height is only 2.5 inches. I think they'll be comfortable but I'll let you know by the end of the day!

Suz - I find peep toe comfort depends on each shoe. It's all where the actual "cut" in the shoe hits my foot - that's what determines the comfort level. These are very comfy so don't anticipate any troubles.

Beth Ann - the green shoes look fab with this dress, if I do say so myself. And will be wearing them together on another work day.

Oh, is it warm enough to go barelegged in Winnipeg now? We have 4C today and I am in tall boots and hose but again I walk to work.

It's currently +12 and going up to +20 so for me, warm enough. And I walk from my house to my garage (about 10 steps) and drive to an indoor parkade so not much outside time to deal with.
