WIW: Complex Color Scheme - YouLookFab Forum

I finally managed to get ready with a few munutes to spare and a husband still at home to get a WIW. Whew. I have a few musings/observations on this one...

1. If I could only wear one color, other than neutrals, for the rest of my life, this top would be the color. It is the perfect shade of blue/green - like the color of rain. I love it!!

2. Something rebellious overtook me, and I passed on the sweater I own that is the exact shade of the flowers in the top, and I picked burgundy. That's me - livin' life on the edge! What do you think? Does mess with your head that the sweater doesn't "match"?

3. In light of point #2 why not throw in some animal print shoes? I would like to say that I meticulously planned it, but it wasn't till I got to work that I noticed the exact shade of tan in the shoes is the color of the flower stems in the top. And here I was trying to totally own the non-matchyness of it all..

4. Ethan noted, just in the nick of time: "mom, did you know that your top is transparent?" Ummmm, no! After putting on a cami, I tried not to wonder if I wore a cami the other 5 or so times I've worn this top! Miniature in-home stylist may finally be out of the dog house...

Top: CAbi (I think the little side pleat that is only on one hip is kind of fun)
Pants: CAbi ponte leggings
Shoes: Breckelle's

PS - kind of weird hair day - but I'm getting cut and color as we speak, so it will be all better soon!

I really like your unusual color palette. I'm in love with blue/green and red combinations and I like the silhouette for you too.

These are my colours too! And I agree that the colour of that top is high on my list of 'could wear for the rest of time.' I swear my stomach starts aching when I come across a particularly beautiful, complicated, muted colour like this, just from the beauty of it.

I adore blue-greens w burgundy; they complement each other beautifully. So no, I don't think things need to match precisely, although that can also be fun. And your hair looks great too!

Really great styling Sarah. And your hair is particularly fantastic. All of this: the hair, the sweater, the flowy top, the leopard shoes, works so well and unexpectedly together. Not everyone can wear this look and look simply (literally) beautiful. You do.

Really, really nice! You look incredible in burgundy. To be honest, I didn't realize that the print on the blouse and the color of the cardi didn't match until you pointed it out. So I think that the difference is too subtle to matter.

I love the leopard print shoes. This is a really awesome outfit! You've put together a lot of interesting pieces, but they all balance well.
