After seeking your guidance on whether my ruby-coloured cowlneck sweater could be matched with my eggplant skinnies, I went ahead and made the pairing. I wore it originally as a tunic-length piece, but was inspired to change things up after my BF jeans experiment success the other day.

It occurred to me that these skinnies are very boyfriend-esque in their silhouette, i.e. loose up top and more tapered at the ankle. As I slipped on my flat black patent loafers to go visiting and run some errands, it hit me that perhaps I ought to do something to lengthen the legline since I wasn't wearing heels to do the job for me. Enter the semi-tuck, which I'm rapidly falling in love with. I figured there was no reason why my tunic couldn't be semi-tucked into my bf-ish eggplant pants, so here you go. I put on pearly, sparkly earrings to add a touch of my usual dressiness + a pop of white into my casual weekend look. Which, incidentally, I could easily wear to my office with its laid-back dresscode.

It's not shown here, but my metallic-grey leather jacket felt like a fab topper over this outfit, especially when worn open. Our weather, which was flirting with sub-arctic temperatures yesterday, was easily warm enough for me to go with lighter layers today. O Canada! :p

Does this work, guys?
Your postETA: I view both of these items as wardrobe essentials, but hope that wearing them together in a less traditional colour combination is enough to result in a more interesting statement
