Angie's posts and ensembles with cognac accents have been truly inspiring, so I ordered a pair of cognac brogues from Clarks a couple of weeks ago to wear with my white, grey, navy and black wardrobe essentials. I'm also going to pair it with red. I have a cognac messenger bag that goes very well with the shoes, and I have ordered a cognac belt, too. I have tall cognac boots from last year, so now I think I'm covered for fall in the cognac department.
Today's outfit is my first run with the new shoes - which I love, by the way. I'm only working at my desk all day, so no meetings or teaching. Since we are in late august, I feel that this outfit is a perfect transition from a more summery style. Navy blazer and white jeans with rolled hems are are summer staples, and the plaid popover shirt in green, black, navy and white is greeting fall. The green belt and the cognac messenger bag complements the outfit. My only accessories are brown specs and a large white/brown watch.
I feel comfortable and unfuzzy today!
Does it work? Or is it too much menswear inspired? I hope my curls add the needed feminine touch. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!
