WiW: Cobalt sweater dress - YouLookFab Forum

This is the Ralph Lauren sweater dress I ordered a few weeks ago. I love it. If it was offered in other non-black colors, I'd duplicate in a heart beat. Worn with

- microfishnets
- Impo leopard booties
- AT white pleather jacket
- Red pashmina (I adore red and cobalt together)
- commando full slip underneath (love this - makes all the difference smoothing bumps, without being Spanx-tight)

I took a rear view for Lyn so she could see the cut better. There's some weird orb on the dress in the back -- that's from the camera.

Not sure how this dress is going to work with my winter coat, which is nearly exactly this same color, but we'll see. I also have a light grey tweed coat, but I imagine I'd swap out the footwear if I pair it with that coat?

Yes, white eyes. With the new hair color, I look like Orphan Annie!

#3 is my absolute favorite. Love the scarf and jacket -- so fresh and vivid (just like your poses -- is Mary Tyler Moore in the building?) I would never have thought of leopard booties (NICE!)

Cobalt/ ultramarine is my favorite color and you look fabulous in it! I am so glad that it is the "it" color this season.

You are adorable! I don't know that you have to change your shoes with a gray coat. I like animal print w gray. It's just off enough to be cool.

Smashing! I am not sure though about a grey tweed with those booties. You'll have to try it. Same color of blue might not be bad depending on the length.

Now, yesterday I thought will want a bigger change for myself(more choppy and short on the top and back of the hair) as per one of Sharon Stone"s amazing look, but ended up this morning with just my regular one..:-) Oh well, maybe next time!
(but, see how thinning is mine?:-((I would happily grown out my bangs, too- just cannot figure how to style them during the process..I think that would be so unproffessional..:-(()

Lyn, your hair cut looks adorable! As for growing out bangs, you can sweep them off to the side (which "trains" them), use barrettes to keep them to the side or up, or wear headbands for awhile. It's still a painful process.

Saramir, here is the slip. Pricey, but worth it. I cannot stand the feeling of Spanx or other tight shapewear against my body. This is not tight at all on me. The material is also anti-static. I agree with all the reviews. Note, I had to cut two inches off the hem on mine. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/co.....ltback=201.

The microfishnets are also Commando brand -- and I am in love with those too! The fit is perfection on me (often tights, even in the smallest size, are too long and/or big for me). The waistband doesn't dig at all, while still sucking everything in. I am going to go stock up on more in this brand.

Mo, This is my favorite shape for a sweater dress because I don't like it when they are form fitting and body con. The dress showed just a little lumps & bumps (mostly underwear lines), but with slip they disappeared.

Angie, I did flat iron yesterday! Not a lot -- just the pieces around my face, and in the back, because it wasn't laying down quite right. The difference is my hairdresser used molding goop on it yesterday, which made it more piece-y and weighed it down. I thought I had some goop around the house but it appears DD has taken it off to college.

DH likes the cut but he's not thrilled with the color -- he likes how the color looks on the sides and back, but not around my face. I agree with him, I prefer having the pieces around my face lighter than this.She put in two different colors -- so there are four colors going on if you include the previous highlights and the gray. But, alas, she used the darkest color around my face! So, to me, it looks a bit like my hair is dirty/greasy there. However, I need to give my hair a rest from the highlights -- especially those face framing locks, which get the most abuse from the flat iron -- so I'll keep it this way and not muck with it. And, anyway, I'm sure it'll lighten up after a few shampoos.
