WIW chocolate brown jacket with jeans

Today I wore a chocolate brown suede jacket - a newish purchase. I tried to style the jacket in a modern way layered over an oversized white shirt. For bottoms I chose a pair of wide legged jeans. My scarf today was very dark navy with white print. The scarf has brown rolled edges, which was a nice detail with the jacket. Large navy bag and navy sneakers with white soles (not shown here).

I tried to style the outfit a bit differently than my usual silky blouse-scarf -dressy trousers-jacket formula. I felt a bit trendy (to my standard I mean, lol) The most different for me was the white shirt. But I was happy with the result.

The white shirt makes the look, IMO. So much yummy crispness with the scarf! And you wear brown and black flawlessly.

You wear chocolate brown beautifully! And I really like the brightness the white shirt gives to this look. The jeans and sneakers gives this outfit a casual vibe but the top half with the crisp shirt and scarf and jacket takes the entire look up a level (elevated casual to me). YLF!

For myself, I have been experimenting with colors a lot lately. Trying to figure out new combinations to try. In the past I would wear one color and ground it with a neutral. Now I'm trying to do the opposite and some days wear outfits with no neutral (no black, brown, or navy). It's been fun to try more colorful looks.

I've also started a belt collection which has really helped give my outfits a nice finishing touch.

I don’t know how you do it, you’ve layered everything so well with the white top, graphic print scarf and fab suede jacket. On me, this would feel like I’ve got way too much going on around the neckline, on you, it looks so stylish.

Lisa, thank you! Interesting to read about your experimenting with colors. I can relate, but in somewhat different way. I have always liked a lot of colors, my wardrobe is very colorful. Now, I am shifting a bit toward outfits combining different neutrals. Turning it down a bit. So in an opposite direction from yours. Although, I have days I crave just bright colors, too. Belts are great. I love the new one you showed here the other day.

Super fab look! The oversized cotton shirt, untucked, along with the jeans and sneakers, definitely makes the look more casual. And yet it's still very you, with the scarf (yes--love that brown edge detail with the jacket!), color palette, and overall polish. This variation in your style is fun to see.
