Today was a day I needed simple and easy; I was also felt inspired by all of the 2010s Rowan Knitting and other editorial stylings showcasing models in silk dresses, tweed jackets, woolen knits, and wellies. There’s a certain appeal to it, though, we know a silk dress would never hold up in real life. Nevertheless, I am taking Angie’s recent advice to me: you are the boss, not the clothes. So comfy and whimsical it is. I put the effort into my makeup today. I wish I had a good, handknit sweater to pair with my outfit. But I’m still sorting out my woolens after the environmental issue.

Makeup: ColourPop Wild Child eyeshadows. Metallic brown eyeliner. YSL Chili Tounique sheer oil lipstick. 12 Blueprints Baha blush.

Earrings were a gift and are sterling silver and Swarovski crystal. My ears are healing from one too many days in a row of cheap earrings. Normally would wear more jewelry, but my hens peck at shiny things. Earrings are my safest bet.

What do you think??? I stepped outside my comfort zone. I didn’t wear the wellies indoors because I actually do use them for hen house chores. (Eww!) But they’re so fun I wish I had bought two pairs. I’m not normally of the British Countryside, Ralph Lauren aesthetic. But I also really love Outlander, Poldark, and the UK. Generally, I like wild, romantic, historic type settings and clothing. Todays outfit is my ode to that.

PS Bonus photo of my first dozen eggs! my hens are finally laying, and it’s such a treat to have fresh eggs.
