Indian republic day today. Time for salwar-style harem pants and a short Indian tunic (kurti) for lounging about. I am rather taken with the chairs printed on my pants.

Yesterday to fly from the cold capital to the warmer tropical city of Calcutta, I wore jeans, t-shirt, cardigan and big scarf. Had to pack and dress in great rush after a very late night of work. So didn't realise the proportions look so sloppy. But consoling myself the cardi style is handy for easy nursing and can provide a little modesty, and the scarf gives little one something to play with without turning his head around. And since baby was wrapped on me, my faux pas wasn't so evident.

The worst of it was that the plane was ridiculously warm! We were roasting. Couldn't wait to strip off even that cotton blend cardi when we landed to a wintry 27°C (plenty of woollen shawls on the streets!)
