Dear Runcarla and Fabbers,
Here comes the first outfit of the colour challenge, Runcarla issued last week. No dark neutrals (black, navy, brown and grey) used in any solid items, only in patterns.
No 1 - 2 I put together this outfit for tomorrow (Monday) to wear to work. I made a theme for myself - tonal light neutrals. I included blush to my definition of a neutral, although it is in fact a colour.
I am wearing a taupe blazer, a large blush/white/taupe/lilac scarf, blush trousers and beige metallic sneakers. I added a beige/gold handbag. I have never worn this combination before. To work tomorrow, I will substitute the sneakers with toffee booties. I like the sneakers better, though.
While I was at it, I tried a couple of more casual outfits on this theme.
No 3 A tonal blush consisting of the same trousers sneakers and creme blouse, a blush sweater, a smaller pink scarf and a vintage handbag.
No 4 - 5 Tonal light neutrals theme continues with a light grey and white.
I am wearing a patterned grey/white/pink jacket, a silver knitted scarf, a creme blouse, creme wool ankle trousers, light grey suede boots and a large light grey bag. I added a pair of white aviator sunglasses.
I was quite pleased with the outfits - quite a change from the high contrast outfits I normally wear. Felt soothing and soft. Nice not to rely on dark neutrals, which I would most certainly use with the blush (I would use navy or black). Thank you Runcarla for this challenge, I had a fun time in my wardrobe this afternoon.
What do you guys think? I am grateful for honest feedback, ideas, comments and whatever comes to mind.
