Well MIL and I had the BEST day! She's on a new pain medication regime now and it is making her so much more comfortable which translates into feeling better and able to do more - at least for the time being. She's also on supplemental oxygen now which is helping tremendously with her breathing. So we took advantage and had a full and wonderful day.
I bought her a beautiful pair of grey wool and plum glen paid trousers (or as she calls them "slacks") and a plum cardigan that she chose when we went shopping. The colour is magic on her olive shaded skin and auburn with white streaked hair. I tried desperately to convince her to let me take her picture and show you all how beautiful she looked, but much too shy for that so you'll just have to take my word for it. While drinking our Guinness at the pub after she was giddy as a school girl with her beautiful fresh manicure and chatting about what she could pair up with her new wardrobe items.
I also bought a few items - as if you doubted I would - lol!
#1 - a grey and white/cream knit Chanel-esque sweater jacket. I'm loving the colour combo of white and grey these days and I thought this would look great with my new grey wide legged trousers but it also looked fab with my Camerons that I was wearing while shopping. Could also work over my black sheath, with black trousers, white jeans, etc. Brand is Dex.
#2 - a faded denim and leather sleeved mixed media jacket. Ever since seeing Angie sport her denim and leather jacket, I have been craving this version of mixed media. I also wanted to replace my faded denim jacket which I now find just a bit too cropped for my liking. I saw this baby and it was love at first sight. Brand is Guess.
#3 - this item was actually what I was specifically looking for after seeing it on The Bay's website. It's a cream with animal print front hi-lo drapey top. I am so into this type of shape and drape these days. It works with trousers and pencil skirts alike. And this top will work well with my black trousers, black pencil skirt, cobalt pencil skirt, white jeans, etc. It also looked nice with the Camerons. Brand is Lord & Taylor.
I see these three new items as winter refreshers but also great for spring - when and if it arrives! I'm also trying to ensure that approximately half of my clothing items can transition into both my work and my casual wardrobes.
