My step sister (who I met in my 30's, but love like she was born into my family) and I took Mom to brunch this morning, so I thought I would post some shots of that... It is super hot here now, and the restaurant was quite casual - definitely not a fancy Sunday brunch kind of place, so I went casual in my Calvin Klein BF jeans and new CAbi linen tank: http://www.cabionline.com/coll.....inen-tank/. I finished it off with a thrifted Hollister sweater, Nine West ankle strap sandals (can't find the link to my color but here they are in orange: https://www.ninewest.ca/produc.....ctid=13741), gold cocktail ring and old Daisy Fuentes clutch. The readers are another new pair I got from Steinmart. They are Max Studio, but I couldn't find a link online.

A few observations/discoveries:

The clutch is supposed to fold in half, but I needed to bring my iPad and didn't want to give up on taking the clutch, so I kept it unfolded. I kind of liked it that way.

I think that the black readers are a little harsh on me, but they are a novel departure from my norm, so I'm kind of liking them anyway...

I never wear white because it is so hard to pull off with this hair. My hair always ends up looking off. Still, I took a chance on this tank. I think that the grey cami under, and the floral sweater over help to break it up a little. What do you think? Is the white ok on me?

While I do love jewelry, I wear it sparingly and selectively, and I have realized that when I am going to spend time with my mom and sister, I consciously edit down even further. They both love to wear tons of jewelry all at the same time. Not just tons, but super extra sparkly. I always think they look beautiful, so I don't feel critical of them... It's just not me. But somehow, sprinkling a little jewelry on myself when I'm in their presence just feels lame, so I tend to pick one item and try to make it count! (I actually counted this time and my mom wore: earrings, two necklaces, a watch, two bracelets, and two rings. My sister wore earrings, two necklaces, a watch, a bracelet, and two rings. (And guess what we got Mom for a present? Yep... Jewelry. Guess who came up with that plan? Yep... My sister. Man I love them!)

After the whole outfit came together, I saw my yellow ring, mustard yellow clutch, floral sweater, thought of Angie and smiled...

Photos: 1/2 - my outfit: 3 - my beautiful sister and mom, along with some sneaky shots of their shoes and jewelry :-); 4 - rash guard pic for Angie. Ethan was at a pool birthday party and not only was he wearing a rash guard, but 7 of the 9 boys also were!

ETA: I recruited Ethan to take photos of me today and he was cracking me up! He took the full length one, and then before I had a chance to ask, he moved in close, snapped the shoes, then the clutch, all the while saying "I know, I know..." Then I had to ask him to humor his "silly mom" and take a couple more because the light was off, and he said "number one, you aren't silly, and number two, you look great." I love that kid SO much!
