WIW: Casual Christmas Party - More Crazy Stripes

I wore my new Crazy Stripes sweater and scarf to a Christmas party this weekend. It was inspired by MsMary. My sweater is different from hers, though, as mine is not ribbed. I wore dark wash boot cut jeans and SE navy suede booties.

Bonus photos: I had to go to the quilt store this weekend and saw this man in his amazing outfit.

Everything would be wonderful, except now I'm having tension problems with my sewing machine, and only a few days to finish a surprise project.

I love you in the stripes! So much fun. And a scarf / sweater twinset is such a fun twist on the usual twinset. Sort of like Angie's dress and scarf from the blog today.

That man's outfit is killer amazing! I'm sure he was delighted to be noticed. You don't dress up like that and then hope to be ignored. I wish we could see his wife, too!

“Bloke” may have originated in the UK but now we claim it as ours. Much like the Bee Gees and Olivia Newton John. 100% Aussie! A hot summer Christmas is fun. It’s a good experience and very different from a winter one (which I have done). The focus is outdoors: the beach, BBQs, seafood, cricket, carols in the domain (outdoor concert venue). For our office Xmas party we had an outdoor BBQ and played lawn bowls.

This striped look is so great on you! I admit to looking at this pile of sweaters in the Gap each holiday season and not getting it. It's so far outside of my comfort zone it's laughable, but you are wearing it so beautifully and with sophistication . Kookiness I don't go for, but this is far from it. Nice!

I continue to love that sweater on you! Have you cleaned and oiled the machine? I always seem to find a tiny random thread in the bobbin case when I can't figure out tension. As a last resort I mess the the tiny screw on the bobbin case, but not sure of the vintage of your machine - mine is a 1970s Elna.

Karen, thanks. I took the machine in yesterday to be looked at. Fingers crossed I can get it back right away. My son is flying in on Saturday. It has to be finished before then.
