I wanted to try the black Summer dress challenge because I love dresses, particularly black dresses, and I wanted to see if I could do a Winter version of a Summer dress.

The dress I chose was an Ebay purchase, See by Chloe. I loved it because of the loose boxy 60s style and the fact that the trim on the bottom is actually clear plastic squares! The only problem is that it's a little short because my knees aren't what they used to be. I have been thinking about adding a trim to lengthen it, but finding the right trim will be a challenge, or alternatively wearing it with leggings. I have never worn a dress with leggings before and I'm not sure that I like the idea for me.

So, it became the challenge dress.

I'm wearing it with my Motto moto, black tights and Supersoft Mary Janes with a tiny wedge..almost flat. I tried it first with a black fine wool cardi, and it looked good, but a little boring. I think that the 'toughness' of the moto contrasts perfectly with the femininity of the dress.
