I have been excited about this since Anige posted it. This type of dress is my HEWI (I can't for the life of me remember what that stands for, but I know what it means). I am always on the lookout for this dress, but they are always too short, too tight, sleeveless etc. I occasionally find one that I can make work by wearing leggings or spanx, but I can never find one that can be worn on its own, loose and free. I recently ordered this Alexander Wang dress from ThredUp (online consignment) and it is no exception. My thighs (aka my nemesis) do not appreciate the clingy T shirt material, but I decided to keep it because I can wear a industrial strength shaper and a slip (to keep it from clinging to said undergarments). It is not a perfect scenario, but I love the shape, length, sleeves and neckline, which is nearly impossible to find. I also really like the lower hemline in back.
Today Ethan was baptized (something he has been wanting to do for a while now) so I wore this dress for the first time. I paired it with my new Bandolino shoes (or sandals, as Angie would call them) and I eperimented with black and silver accessories (Ethan's suggestions) but I just wasn't feeling it with the shoes so I opted for gold watch and yellow and pale gold clutch. I am really funny about when and how I can wear black accessories - it rarely feels right... until it does. Overall, I felt that this was just flattering enough and it felt wonderful in motion and on my body.
I couldn't resist throwing in a couple of photos of Ethan's special day. He was baptised by his dad and grandfather (my father in-in-law who I love more than words). And the hug I got afterwards was priceless.
