Casual is the way I dress everyday - but there are varying degrees of casualness for me. This was yesterday-casual for leaving the house, meeting girlfriend for coffee, and dumping off a bunch of stuff at thrift store. Equipment blouse, BR jeans, Anthro sandals, and J.Crew belt.

This outfit is about as much brown as I can tolerate. It bookends my hair very well - but looks horrible around my face! I had almost donated these sandals until Angie told us all about brown for fall and so I got them back out of the bag - and have worn them a LOT - they are 8+ hour shoes and still reasonably in style.

One of my style goals for this year was to add a bit of polish to my RATE style. My hair is always RATE, no matter what (which reminds me - notice how frizzy my hair looks in this pic? - that's 'cuz I tried letting it go curly/wavy which sometimes works really well - NOT this day though!) Also, in looking at this pic, I wish that I would have spent a little more time on the semi-tuck of the blouse. The blouse is quite long, but soft drapey silk - it could have looked better than this if I just would have paid more attention to the details! That's what I meant about adding more polish to my style - but, I always forget about those small details - which I'm finding can swing an outfit from RATE to polish, or polish to RATE.
