I am really busy at work, and that makes any planning of outfits hard. Plus I climbed this morning, which means I go to the gym in my climbing clothes and just grab an outfit for work without trying it on first. Photo taken after insane day of work and climbing and running around with boy after school.

This was today's result. Pretty meh, but note that I am wearing SHOES! Specifically my red Fluevog Malibrans. Old Gap trousers, j. crew blazer, some old black tank.

I really need to remember my FFBOs! (just learned that one)

This isn't meh. On busy days like that, my hair would be sticking up, my shirt rumpled and my jacket buttoned crookedly, lol.

The jacket is fabulous on you. I love your shoes, but the pants look a bit short in this picture (maybe?).

Shevia, thanks. I think it's the photo. They are actually a little long. Usually the hems are dragging if I don't wear 3 inch heels.

I love this outfit! Thrown together can be the best of all - not overworked, nor neglectful, just nonchalant. I think when you have good pieces and have developed an eye, this approach to dressing can be very effective!

That's good looking for a chosen at random outfit!
Have you considered pulling some never fail outfits and hanging them together for those days? Although, this could be one of them. I like the wide leg pant for a change - that type of menswear plaid is fun.

Look at it this way, even in an outfit that you feel meh about, you have incorporated color and pattern, tempered a bright with gray, and done some great proportions. I think you are feeling what I felt the last time I wore pants: absence of the UWP factor (aka boots). I'm going to have to remember this for tomorrow, when the tough element isn't a given because of my footwear.

That is striking! especially for an unplanned look. I agree with Rae, though --- you're missing just a tiny hint of tough(er)ness maybe? Was there a bag involved at all?

I think Fruitful is right! Sometimes the less thought an bout outfits can be the most successful. This looks great. And when you have a wardrobe of good pieces that work well for you that seems to make it easier to throw things together as well.

OK, I've been busy too and rushing about so much that I have not been putting together my most fab outfits, but if this photo of yours is uninspired, my outfits lately are downright anti-inspirational! You look great -- I think the shots of red make it look deliberate and lively.

I love the bookending of the red blazer with the red shoes and I really like the pants (are they a glen plaid pattern?). I think this outfit is fab Una and could definitely quality as FFBO!
