Finally got my fiancée to help me take some pictures of this outfit!

I'm counting this as my entry for the color challenge, monochrome non-neutral, because this is the closest I can get (only burgundy when not wearing the blazer, other than the boots). I can also do this same look with olive; I have the same blouse in olive and another midi skirt that's made of a super soft lighter olive (almost sage) corduroy. I'll definitely be wearing that outfit soon, too.

The 90s are my favorite fashion decade, because I was a kid during them and they were super formative for me, so this is a look I've been sporting now and then for my entire adult life (I didn't like wearing skirts growing up because I had no idea how to style them, and I prefer wearing pants 9 times out of 10).

All pieces are older than one season except the blouse, which I bought pretty recently; I am obsessed with Torrid's Harper Georgette blouses, so any time they offer a new color or pattern I like, I buy it up. I HAD to get this burgundy one, as burgundy is one of my favorite colors to wear.

I mentioned in my recent update post that I want to shift to dressing more smart casual most of the time, and this is definitely a look I want to enjoy more often as I continue to WFH, and when I am hopefully a grad student next year. I have plenty of possible combinations with midi skirts, blouses, tees, etc. that wouldn't be monochrome, too. I also have a couple more pairs of stompy boots (my rainbow iridescent Docs, and my snakeskin Steve Maddens). Did I mention this is one of my absolute favorite aesthetics?
