I was inspired by Angie's post to wear a version of the Browns, Greys, and Black formula of outfit 2. I just got this pair of light gray-wash jeans and wanted to wear them. (Yes, another new pair of jeans. Does someone need to stage an intervention?)
I paired them with a top that has a super narrow stripe of the darkest brown and charcoal gray, a brown and black belt with mixed metal studs and dull silver buckle, black v-neck cardigan, and booties that are black with brown trim on the back. I first tried the outfit with a dark brown-black boiled wool vest that goes with the top, but I didn't like the length of it with the pants. So I tried the shorter black sweater, which I liked. I wouldn't have thought to wear a black sweater over this top, had it not been for really wanting the silhouette of a shorter topper AND Angie's blog suggestion of wearing black and brown with gray. So there you go: the power of suggestion on YLF!
The outfit: Gray loose-fit straight jeans (AllSaints, Hailey); brown and charcoal cowl-neck long sleeved modal knit tee (OSKA); brown and black studded belt (Suzi Roher); black Chelsea boots (Pikolinos); off-white boiled wool hoodie (OSKA); black cross-body bag (Rebecca Minkhoff); silver and brass earrings (Marjorie Baer).
Comments welcome, as always. Thanks for looking!
