WIW: Brown Accents and Catching Up!

I had a crazy busy few days. Finally catching up with a few of my WIWs and off I head again into another crazy busy birthdays+anniversary and school's last week (Yay!).

So here we go ...

1) This is the first rendition of Angie's brown accents formula, worn to a friend's birthday lunch.

2) Second rendition of Angie's brown accents ensemble. This is what I wore today for running a few errands with DS. I also wore this exact outfit a few months back for a fun day out with my girlfriends. Repeated it for Angie

3) I wore this for weekend brunch with family.

Shorts - Old Cheap Jeans DIY
Top - Local boutique/old
Two tone ballet flats - EcoFlex/old
Handbag - Steve Madden/old

4) I wore this for DS's friends birthday party. I needed to be comfy yet a bit dressy, hence the bold lips. This is the faded jeans + black combo which I love (waving to Aida)

Studded Flats - From India
Handbag - Steve Madded/old

5) Again worn to another kid's birthday party (Yep! It's the birthday season!). Wearing my vest here with flats. This vest is clearly a work horse

She via - I am very bad at belts! When I found the skinny belts three pack in cognac, white and black I jumped. Tee hee! And the animal print belt was a wild card! Glad someone likes my belts. Lol!

Love the top in #3. It looks completely on trend. It's such a great combination of easy/ casual and a bit dressy. A lot of your outfits manage to hit that note. Do you pick items on purpose for that, or do you think it's more a factor of how you combine them -- with accessories like bags and such?

And your question really made me think. It is only of late that I am putting more thought into buying dressier tops and bottoms even if they are for my casual life. Else it was always ... Whatever tickled my fancy! I am glad my outfits are hitting that note because that is exactly what I am aiming for. Casual yet dressy :). You are a fantastic observer Suz!

I wonder why I did not snag the duplicates in lemony yellow and peach when they were on sale (20$!). .. Hmmmm

Absolutely, it does make sense. I would have probably not got enough wear out of them (pale colors are tricky for me). Moreover my bag rack is already over flowing and I get a few rolling eyes now and then *rolling eyes*
