WIW bright pink tuxedo jacket

Today I thought I would try my pink tuxedo jacket with a skirt. This is a slim-fit, mermaid-style skirt, and it's one of my favs
I wore a black long sleeved T under it but couldn't figure out what to do at the neckline. Suggestions? I tried a scarf, nothing looked right with the color of the blazer, so I ended up wearing a necklace. The necklace is hand-made from glass, made by my nephew's ex-fiance.

I prefer the previous styling but maybe that's because I'm not so fond of the skirt (but grain of salt).

That's OK, Caro, the skirt looks much better IRL. It's a large houndstooth print, doesn't show up that way in the photo.

I'm not liking the proportions here with this skirt. Think that skirt needs a shorter blazer to even it out. I love the proportions in your first look with this blazer and that pink color is divine!

I agree a more streamlined bottom would be nicer - but I do love your blazer with the dark underneath! I may try to replicate the look with my neon pink cardigan and a navy t-shirt this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration!

Karie, I seem to agree with the ladies. The blazer is great but is not working well with the skirt. I liked the previous styling better.

Karie, I love the jacket. I too favour your previous styling of the jacket but that has a lot to do with personal preference. I like the streamlined look of the first combination. The skirt is beautiful but I am never sure how to best style that length and shape. A cropped jacket to the waist might be worth a try. The necklace is so pretty, shame she is the EX girlfriend:)

I think skinny or straight pants could work better, but I'm not completely saying the skirt doesn't work. The bright pink works to counteract the frump factor that sometimes sets in with large volume pieces. I like it.

Also, what is the piece inside the necklace?

I like it! It's a bit on the longish side for that skirt, for sure- but as the fabric is drapey and has such a flowing streamlined cut I actually think it works. And is so cheery! YLF:-)

Karie: Love the color and I notice the terrific scrunched sleeves. I see what the others mean about the proportions of the jacket, but I think the ease of the fit and the flow and drape of the fabric is quite nice. How do you feel about the look and feel about this outfit? Or more importantly, do you feel fab?

With your slender build, shortening this skirt to just below the knee might work well, although you'd loose a little of the swish!

Thank you for your comments and suggestions! Raisin, the necklace is made of crushed glass, different colors. They get formed into a design and put through a kiln.
