I have one quiet plaid pair of pants and one bermuda shorts that is more of a loud plaid.
#1 Trying outfit formula 3 - I even dug out my highest heels that I cannot give up even if they are only just for play or sitting. I tried to capture the warm/cool contrast but the colors aren't quite right.
#2 Closer to what I might actually wear.
#3 This is formula 4 by a fairly recently thrifted top by Hana San, a designer I hadn't heard of prior to finding and researching this shirt (another fun part of thrifting). I actually think it overwhelms me and had in mind to sell it but hadn't as it is so gorgeous and beautifully made. Well as they say - she who hesitates is lost (in the fabric)!

I especially like the last outfit, Shevia. While it has a lot of fabric, I don't think the white top overwhelms you, and I really like it with the (quiet) plaid pant! Love how you've bookended the white of shirt with the shoes, and how the sharp point of the toe echoes the sharpness of the pleats. So glad you're finding ways to nurture your creative side in all of this - and that you're sharing some of the results!

I agree, the top doesn’t overwhelm you. It’s very cool, and looks great with the pants.

Re the shorts in #1 and 2: That’s a lot of look, as Tim Gunn would say. I like them!

I like the second outfit a lot, too, and don’t think it overwhelms you either. The simple lines in the front keep it from being too much, and the back is a fun surprise. Love the white shoes too!

Both are great on, but #2 is so beautiful Shevia, really to die for. The blouse is wonderful and the pants too. Love the blouse so much.

I really like the jacket with the shorts in #1 but agree that the colors are just a bit off. The Hana San shirt is stunning. I’m so glad you didn’t sell it- the drape is beautiful, and you wear white so well.

Ooooh! #3/4 is beautiful. Love the silhouette. The top collapses nicely against your body, and does not overwhelm. On trend ‘hectic’ shirt for the win!

I like nr 1, but nr 3/4 is so cool! I don't see the shirt too overwhelming -and makes a beautiful outfit with the check pants, BUT I do understand your hesitation-as to where, when and how? This kind of outfit makes a real statement when you are standing and moving a lot- BUT not when you are seated around a table for ex.... or have chores to do...this is why I avoid these crispy shirts. Just curious where did you wore maybe I'll feel more inspired to get one myself, too. Otherwise, YLFof course!

I love all of these! The first two read a little more 'corporate-creative' to me, while the last one is simply smashing for any occasion! Those are amazing white shoes.

Oh my goodness, that second outfit is perfection! Fashion forward - you could be in a fashion ad. Love the bookending... and those shoes! I was loving on that split higher vamp when they first started showing up ... but the heel height put me off. . . They always came with a higher heel. I see it isn’t that high necessarily- but I am feeling increasingly wobbly on skinny heels. Would buy in a heartbeat with a block heel. Divine.

Wow! Outfit 3/4 is a knockout. Feminine without ruffles and lace. You carry it off without looking overwhelmed but I can understand why you feel that way. Architectural goodness that is light and airy.

I'm not sure how to word it but I like how that last shirt looks like the artsy or creative version of a painter's shirt. What I mean is that it adds a playful & architectural aspect to the structure of an oversized shirt ...I'm not explaining myself well, am I? I promise that's supposed to be a compliment, lol!

torontogirl - Thank you! I was obsessed with v shaped shoes a couple of years ago and actually bought these on ASOS from a more upscale brand (Gestuz) when they went on sale.
AndiB - I am with you on the obsession with v vamped shoes, ever since Phoebe Philo's Celine. They are so flattering. I have found them with low and no heels but it took a while!
