WIW: Blush + apricot plus new shoes

Not quite dress weather yet in Toronto - so I'm wearing light colors to compensate. I'm liking the lights to freshen things up after a long winter.

Leather jacket - thrifted ($8! I couldn't resist the unusual color. And the leather is sumptuous.)
Top: old club Monaco
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Ecco. I am NEVER in a mall - so yesterday when I had dinner with a friend at Yorkdale I ran in and bought 2pairs of summer shoes in 5 minutes these will be replacements for my often worn sneakers. A little dressier and they feel right for my style.

Thoughts? I feel a little shapeless and boxy in this outfit. Yay/nay?

Great warm weather looks without sacrificing coverage when needed. And what a great find with the fabulous jacket! This is a less body-con look, but I think it works well.

The double hem of the top makes for a lot of horizontal lines, including one below the jacket. You CAN carry it off, but that is probably why you get a 'boxy' feel. If the top was of a similar tone as the jeans, and either cropped or tucked in so it ends above the bottom of the jacket, you would get a more streamlined look.

The shoes and jacket are perfect together.

Just worndering - does this work with your green print top and bottom? Your mother had something to do with it. She either found it or tailored it for you? I may be misremembering, but seems to me the pattern has a colour similar to that of this jacket and the shoes.

The first thing I noticed was the jacket shoe combination, which is perfect. I love those shoes! You could tuck in the under layer or do without it for more of a streamlined, monochrome look, but I like this as is. The jeans look perfect, including length, and the pendant is also excellent. I am always taking pendant notes, I should actually wear one!

Shoes and jacket are a great pairing ! I’d switch out the CM sweater for something a little sleeker - you’re right , this isn’t quite “you” . I think it’s the looser jeans with the looser sweater that is throwing you off .

I love this look! It’s right up my alley because it’s a little slouchy and relaxed. Maybe that’s why it feels off to you—your style is sleeker. I love this though. Great shoe and jacket combo!

Thanks ladies for the feedback and you are right. I like it, but I do feel like I look wide in it and it's all those horizontal lines and loose top + loose jeans. This is why I love this forum - honest opinions ranging from 'killer' to 'this is hour you could tweak it." Everyone is so supportive.

@RunCarla your have an amazing memory! Yes, my mom got me that outfit and tailored it... But it might be too dark for this jacket? I'll definitely give it a go!

More love for the jacket-shoe pairing! Agree with Runcarla about all the horizonal lines, but you don't look boxy to me either!

Love the shoes and the jacket. Amazing how on trend the jacket colour is for a thrifted item. For the record, I don't think this makes you look wide, so much as you have 3 competing things going on in the hips area. Take out the sweater or the blouse (replace with a slim fitting underlayer), I think the jacket has ample structure.
